PF Please!! What's out there?

Post#1 » by Train7492 » Fri Jun 27, 2008 2:18 pm

As I look at the roster like everyone has said our frontcourt is not very strong (Murphy, Foster, Rasho, Hibbert, McRoberts). Murphy and McRoberts are our true PF and that is not going to get it done. So here is what I come up with, some of these are a big risk but have alot of reward if the stay healthy or stay out of trouble.

K. Martin, Nene, Wilcox, Randolph, Lee, AK47, Marion, R. Wallace, Gooden this is just a few.

I would like to see AK47 in our system. Ford, Dunleavy, Granger, AK47, Hibbert or Rasho.
What do you guys think and what peices do we have to get them.

Shawne, Foster and Daniels for AK47 works, but I doubt Utah bites.

It would work legally, but that's an awful lot of long-term money to take on. It's almost like taking a JO-lite contract back on the books ($15 million next year, $16.5 million the next, and almost $18 million the following year).

i like wilcox here both because i think he can play uptempo and for some reason i'm under the impression that seattle is willing to part with him. I believe he only has one year left on his fairly reasonable deal too? I don't see any of those other names being a desirable or realistic option, barring that clever tins for k-mart trade that someone posted here recently. we also need our new PF to play well on the defensive end because murphy is awful, so that eliminates randolph and maybe lee.

I'd add Haslem, Harrington, and Gerald Wallace to the list.

Do you think there is anyway we could get the Bobcats to trade us Gerald Wallace for a Mike Dunleavy package? He's probably my #1 target right now, because I think he'll be easier to get than Marion, and his contract is fairly affordable.

Portland just traded Darrell Arthur to Memphis for Donte Greene.... i wonder if a deal involving Arthur for Williams can still be in the works?

I kid you not, i wasn't totally sober last night when i was posting and probably a reason i stayed on realgm til 3 in the morning when i had to be up at 615 for work lol, but i truly think we can get Al Harrington. From all i have heard, Golden State doesn't want him anymore and i know it had little credibility but there were rumors last deadline about a Harrington trade to Indiana. His 2nd time here was a disaster, with Carlisle and him playing center. He's a fan favorite. He's exciting to watch. I think with players like Roy Hibbert and Rasho at center, i think it's a prime time to get a guy like Harrington for the PF role. Warriors have Wright and Randolph in their front court now.

Melvin Ely could be a cheap option at the 4 as well, he is a RFA

How do we get Al Harrington from GS what would we give them? Murphy? I think there'd be a riot in Oakland if Mullin took Murph back. I don't see them taking JT unless we pay big time, like JT and Shawne plus a future pick.

One thought I had was could we sign someone like a kwame Brown as a defensive spec?

I think Gerald Wallace could play the 4. Didn't he play there for the Bobcats some? If Marion and Rashard Lewis can play the 4, I think Wallace can. He's already a much better shotblocker than both.

Honestly, I love that deal. I am a fan of AK47. I love his defense and athleticism in the frontcourt. He can guard multiple positions and best of all, we dont lose any of Bird's coveted white guys! But seriously, I do like him. I wonder if we added a pick to that if Utah bites?

New Jersey have a few bigs they could spare. They have 8 players taller than 6'8"

B. LOPEZ - 7'0"
R. ANDERSON - 6'10"
Y. JIALIAN - 7'0"
S. WILLIAMS - 6'10"
J. BOONE - 6'10"
B. NOCHBAR - 6'9"
N. KRSTIC - 7'0"
S. SWIFT - 6'10"

B. SIMMONS - 6'6"
C. DOUGLAS-ROBERTS - 6'7"
M. AGER - 6'5"
V. CARTER - 6'6"
D. HARRIS - 6'3"
M. WILLIAMS - 6'3"
T. HASSELL - 6'6"

Harris / M.Williams /
Carter / Ager / Douglas-Roberts
Nochbar / Simmons / Hassell
S. Williams / Yi / Swift / Anderson
Lopez / Boone / Krstic

We could trade Daniels for Swift but I'm not thrilled with that. I'd like to get Boone.

I think the only ones we could possibly get would be Boone, Krstic, or most likely, Swift.

We might be able to convince New Jersey to take Shawne Williams in exchange for either Boone or Krstic, with Daniels as the filler (for a S&T for Krstic), but most likely, they'd probably do a Swift for Daniels deal just to clear the front court and get rid of Swift.

I'd do all of the following 3: Shawne/Daniels for S&T Krstic, Shawne for Boone, Daniels for Swift.

What about either Wilcox or Collison from Seattle. Both would be good fits.

Both are on very good contracts and both are valued heavily by their teams. Plus, it's just really hard to deal with Seattle right now with all their management issues and location issues.

Wilcox is expiring as well, so he's going to command a lot of value for them to move him.

Thing is, Seattle really needs a C. They have a glut of PF's and we have a glut of C's. We'd have to add in incentive, maybe Daniels? I'm not sure what would have to be done, but I think we could get one of them if we dangle Foster or Rasho, I guess Rasho would have to be a while from now though.

Daniels probably isn't incentive to any team around the league depending on how bad of a contract they can give up in the process.

I'd LOVE Nick Collison. He's a banger and the ball just sticks to his hands. One of my favorite non-Pacers in the league. Hard worker too.
