Predictions
The Wolves will finish with the 4th or 5th worst record in the NBA (ahead of NY, Memphis, Seattle, and maybe NJ)
The Wolves will beat the Celtics
Love and the Wolves will beat OJ Mayo and the Grizzlies every time next season
Love will make the All-Rookie NBA first team, finishing fifth in voting.
Love will play for the Rookie team which will defeat the Sophomore team
Al Jefferson will not play in the All Star game (Jianlian will get more votes)
Foye will have finished third or fourth (probably too close to call) for the Most Improved Player award

Re: Predictions
Question about the Rookie-Sophomore game: Oden would play for the rookies, correct?

He's in another conference.

I know, I just wanted to show a comparison. Jianlian will still get more votes than most star forwards though like he did last year. I hope his name never goes on the ballot.

Re: Predictions
If Foye is the second most improved player then there would be no way we would have the fourth worst record.

I actually am going to change that to third (maybe fourth). He will improve, but not as much as Wolves fans would hope he would. I think the award will go to Thornton, but anything could happen. I think other potential contenders are Noah, Conley, and Stuckey.

Re: Predictions
I know i'm going to sound like a complete homer, but if we make one more move to get a defensive big(Diop), then we could compete for the playoffs(That wouldn't be a good thing though)
-We have Jefferson, who is one of the most skilled offensive players in the league.
-We now have Mike Miller; the best player on the Grizzlies who is also one of the top 10 best shooters this league has.
-We still have Randy Foye, did anyone forget that he was a triple-double threat near the end of the year?(The one I remember most is the Portland game where he was off by 1 rebound and 1 assist, or something to that extent)
McCants was actually a pretty nice defender when he was aggressive, but minus the fouling. If he could learn to play an aggressive style of defense with control of his reaches and maybe raise his IQ(Most of his fouls came off dumb offensive fouls or fast break fouls)then McCants is a threat.

Re: Predictions
I don't see the Wolves being that bad, barring an injury. 33 wins puts them somewhere around the 7th, 8th, 9th worst record.
Here's some predictions:
-Kevin Love will have a game where he narrowly misses a triple double (something like 10/10/8)
-Randy Foye will have a triple double
-The Wolves will make a trade at the deadline
-Al Jefferson will have a 50 point game. This game will come down to the wire, possibly overtime.
-Rashad McCants, if he's still on the team, will foul out both ways during the 2008 calendar year: 6 personals one (at least) game, 2 technical another game
-People will still call Corey Brewer a bust, even when he's shooting in the 40s from the field and 30s from three. Those aren't good numbers, but they're good enough for a second year player who does everything else nicely

I am praying Corey Brewer has the same improvement as Utah's Ronnie Brewer.

Re: Predictions
Minnesota will be good enough to forfeit our owed pick but not good enough to make the playoffs. Miami will suffer through another Wade injury and watch as Riley leaves to "scout" after a 10-27 start. Boston will end up with a top-3 record leaving us with only 1 pick in next years draft, somewhere btwn 27-30.
*Expect the worst, hope for the best*
Kevin Love will lead the team in 3P%.
Al Jefferson will be the only player to average 24, 11, 3 for the year.
Foye will prove to be the floor general we have wanted him to be
McCants will average 18ppg off the bench and be dealt at the deadline
Miller will prove to be the floor spreader we wanted.

Re: Predictions
does love really have nba-3pt range? if it is like that, it's actually pretty cool. anyway I think Foye and Brewer will have an improved offensive game (particuarly Brewer) combining for 23 points and 8-9 assists per game plus 6+ boards (if Love and Big Al will leave some boards for the others)
dunno about the others though. I can see McCants going for 20 points per game if he gets the touches and I really hope he'll cut his TO's and fouls down but this is rather hoping than thinking.

Re: Predictions
I believe he does have 3 pt range like that. He shot 35% in college and I completely disregarded the fact that we hame Miller on this team so I'll rescind that particular comment.
If Foye+Brewer only averages 23 PPG, I will be upset. Im hoping foye can do ~15-18 and Brew to notch in about 10. Maybe not that far off but, Im hopeful.

Re: Predictions
McCants, Foye, and Miller all shot 40%+ from three last year. If Love manages to lead the team in three point percentage it's either a) Been a horrible, horrible season b) Been a spectacular season or c) he'll be told not to take any threes, and will end up something like 3/5 or 4/8.

Re: Predictions
My predictions:
Wolves win 38 games and finish 11th in a tight western conference. We land 10th in the lottery and get to keep our pick. We also get Miami's pick.
McCants finishes second for the 6th man award.
Brewer finishes second for the most improved player award.
Love finishes third in the rookie of the year voting (behind Oden and Beasley)
We have six players that average double figures (Foye/McCants/Jefferson/Miller/Love/Brewer)

with Love and Miller getting a decent amounts of shots I don't think Brewer will average 10 points... I hope he will but I don't think it will happen. if Big Al averages around 22-24 points, Foye and Rashad around 15-18 points, Miller between 13-15 and Love averaging 12+ points (hopefully) that's already 77-87 points per game. not that I really think it will happen but I could bet it will be in that range I don't think Brewer will have so many touches to score more than 7-8 points and I don't think we'll be a fast break team either or not as much as GSW or Denver are. I think as a team we'll score around 98-100 points and give up 103-106 points per game.

Re: Predictions
I'm staying the course that makes me think alot of little things will be better.
Wins: 34
Telfair: Has an opportunity to showcase some maturity at runnng a team - behind Foye.
Foye: As the season moves along, he will begin to show why we swapped hime for Roy.
McCants: Has the opportunity to prove we were okay to move Mayo and keep him as SG. Jury out ???
Brewer: Will be stronger and score more consistantly. Truly understands team performance.
Gomes: If he picks up his intensity, he has a chance to be the 6th man of the year.
Miller: A great asset and his gamer mentallity will rub off - if he stays healthy.
Cardinal: Will see limited minutes, but does the little things that help teams win.
Smith: Minutes limited at times, but he knows the season is long and his opportunities will come.
Jefferson: Sees less double-teams in his future and knows he has to step on defense.
Love: Has natural game sense, but the coaches need to simplify his role to maximize his skills.
Collins: Can D-up pretty well, but a limited offensively. Mchale may help him flip a new leaf.
Maddog: Similar to Collins, but shorter, less useable, and been injured.
I'd like acquire Chris DuHon, otherwise resign Telfair and sign the kid from Michigan State.
