Marbury A Chance To Be Bought Out?

Jun 29, 2008 4:15 AM EST

According to the report, if president Donnie Walsh acquires a point guard, Marbury likely will be released, according to a league source.

David Lee, who is looking for a contract extension, seems the most likely candidate to be dealt for a point guard, with Raymond Felton from Charlotte and the Steve Blake from Portland possible options.

If he's bought out. . .do you think there's a chance that we may look into acquiring him? What do you think?
Personally i'm kind of "iffy" about it. . .he's a good talent, but I question his character and attitude at times.

Ideas. . .?¿

I'd be interested. We're talking about a guy who can average 3 or 4 dimes and 5 or 6 assists per game here. And when he shoots to win, he shoots to win.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

If he could be had for cheap, I'd take him.

More realistic, Arroyo could sign with New York. He would sell tickets in NYC, and fits their style of play.

As for a trade Redick for Lee works straight up.

Marbs at the vet min if we're still looking for that 3rd PG, absolutely...this guy knows how to get to the basket, he can control a game from the FT stripe unlike many PG's in the game, he's fairly good size and he's not a bad distributor...maybe hes one of those change of scenery guys...idk...even though he's a "big shot" I think his talent outweighs his downside...he would never come here though, too many negatives on the track record...

A guy who only gets garbage minutes vs a guy who has averaged a double double off the bench?

Oh my no.

Cancer. And I suspect his ego wouldn't allow him to sit quietly as a 3rd stringer. I'd rather have Hedo be the 3rd string PG than bring in this sour-puss.

It's taken me years to get over seeing Vernon Maxwell in a Magic uni as is.

Please say no to Starbury. EVERYWHERE he went, he made his teams worse than before. I'm 100% sure after he leave NY, they'll fare better than before.

what the heck does faloop mean?

I can't believe you guys are accepting a guy who has a huge ego to be part of this team. The only time marbs was ever good was his rookie year with KG..then his head got big...or maybe it was before but he never expressed it publicly.

I'd take a mature francis over an egotistical starbury

Actually we may need Randolph more than Marbs if and when he wants to play defense/get boards and not be a (fringe, mostly wannabe) star anymore.

As for Loserbury, how you guys call him some days, we already tried that with SteveFrancis and although fun, that season threw us into the lottery headfirst.

I'm iffy on him.. don't really like him but if his attitude was straight he could really help, if he could be purchased for a cheap price and he pulled his stuff together id take a chance on him.. I'd rather go after Livingston though.

He's a bad fit, and I doubt he would sign somewhere for the minimum. We should have other targets in mind imo.
