Shaun Livingston anyone???

Post#1 » by rowchee19 » Sun Jun 29, 2008 3:46 pm

The Clips decided not to extend a qualifying offer to livingston.
Yes he is recovering from possibly the worst knee injury many of us have seen, but would it be worth a risk to try and sign him for say, something really low. He's a big guard, has a great handle, and is a great distributer. If he comes back from the knee injury, he could have a huge impact on the nuggs.
Just a thought.

I think he would be a good addition to the team.

He'ld be excellent as long as he is healthy. Almost a perfect fit next to AI with his great size and length.

I'd do it... Livingston with a wooden knee is still better than AC.

I like the idea of signing him.....but I've heard that he's really in rough shape, and for the Clippers to not offer anything at the moment....that just tells me that a lot of the rumors might be true. It's a shame, because before the injury, the kid had a world of potential.

I'd bring him in for a workout/examination definitely. It worries me a little bit that LAC gave up on him so quickly, but that COULD be just because they drafted Eric Gordon (though I think hes more of a 2). I also don't know if we have the cash to bring him in, but IF we could free up some cash, AND give him a clean bill of health, I would go for it.

If he is healthy, I would love to have him brought in. If he can return to improving like he had before the injury, it would be great for the team. He was even starting to add an outside shot.

Backcourt length would be great too with JR 6'6'' and him 6'7''. Thinking post AI, of course.

I'd love to see Livingston take Atkins upcoming role. True his knee is a risk, but the doctors did clear him to play. I think a 1yr contract is suitable for this situation. I think he understands that he has a lot of proving wrong to do. He would put in work, we have a great medical team to help him, and we could really use his length and defense outside.

i'd to sign him for a small contract, and see how it goes.

best case is that he's healthy and is perfect next to AI.
worst case is that he gets cut... so not bad.

the guy needs 2 hours of warmup before he can play a game, and then needs to spend an hour in an icebath afterwards.

Thats the truth.

But I don't know how he has recovered so it is a risk.

obviously hes not in good shape right now if the Clippers didnt even wait it out on him, but I still think this is a risk willing to take, I mean he Livingston on bad knees is stiill much more productive than AC
