Easier to Get Mike Miller

Post#1 » by -The Truth- » Sun Jun 29, 2008 4:03 pm

Now that miller has been traded to the wolves do you feel we could make a strong run for him....or some of the other scoring wings on that team....

Rashad Mccants
Mike Miller
Randy Foye
Corey Brewer

- in my opinion all these players could help the raptors in different ways..

Brewer- he loves to slash and is a decent shooter....and i feel he can one day be a very productive starter in this leauge.....he looked great in college and i think he would help the raptors

Mccants- not as interested in him but he can score in bunches and if we could trade for him cheap he would be an ok option

Foye- he most likely will not be traded for anyone on our team but we could possible package bargs and some fillers to get him.....he can score with the best of them and he would be a great guy to give the ball to in crunch time...

Miller- he is also a great shooter so he could help spread the floor but he also is a very smart basketball player and would help our team reach the level we deserve to be at....

- i think if we were looking to trade bargs this may be a good place to trade him to because we could get some young wing/sg talent to put with J.O Bosh and Caldy

IDEA

Foye or Miller
Craig Smith

for

Bargnani
Graham
09 1st Rounder
Parker or Kapono(tough to trade either but to get it done i would)

Craig smith is a scrub and Foye's value is not that high. If your adding miller into the mix then it make sense but either take the 1st rounder out or "Parker or Kapono" ... otherwise Toronto is giving up way too much in that trade.

We would be dealing with McHale and Babcock here. Offer them a sack of potatoes and see what happens.

wait a sec... Foye or Miller and Smith for Bargs and our 09 1st pick... thank God you're not our GM... worse trade ever... injuries and Soph slump... it happens... everyone relax on Bargs... he's going to be a good player in this league...

I wouldn't mind McCants if we could get him cheap. He is a 15 ppg scorer and is still very young.

Brewer would be on top of my list for a cheap acquisition. We should go for a defensive guard and Brewer fits this mold. I have no idea what the T'Wolves will ask in return, this is McHale and Babcock we're talking about, so anything is possible.

No sure if they even exercised the team option for Brewer yet.

I suspect Minny wants to hang onto Miller, I'd make a pitch for him, but I wouldn't give up Bargnani for him.

Hump + Parker + 09 1st for Miller?

That's really the best we could do, and the only financial match up as Graham doesn't make enough.

And even if he doesn't become what we want, you don't sell him when his value is the absolute lowest. You wait until it goes up a bit, otherwise you've got no leverage in trade talks. He's safe for the coming season, unless he explodes in the first few months and we trade him while his value is super high.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

It might be a good idea to go after Al Harrington. He had a bit of a bad season so his value is pretty low. Also, GS will have trouble keeping their payroll below the tax threshold, so a deal of Parker + Hump + Graham should help them round out their roster. Harrington's contract also expires in 2010 offseason, so it doesn't mess with BC's long term plans.

To obtain Brewer, would we have to include Bargs in the trade? Don't know too much about Coreys game...Ronnie on the other hand

i dont think there will be any significant trades. i think BC's plan is to keep JK and develop AB still...at this point we can only get rid of graham and humphries so i guess that SG is going to come from a quality free agent.

2009 1st rounder for Mike Miller ?

The most i would give up for Miller is Joey Graham and Humphries. But we don't need another offensive player who cant defend the wing position. Brewer is someone that i think would be a good fit here.

you truly under-estimate the value of foye and miller....i understand that the offer was a bit too much but.....you would not get foye or miller without giving up one of parker or bargs

If we can get Mike Miller without giving up Bargs, AP or a draft pick then im ok.
And really we cant get him without any of those guys so I guess its a no no.
