Which position is a priority?

What position does the DRC (Donnie, Rick, Cuban) choose?
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

what I like about the new polls is you can change your vote.

When you have a position that has not been manned adequately since you Amnesticized Finley's contract there is not much question...
10:20 (pm, 6/29/06) The Mavs take Maurice Ager at No. 28... Ager walks up to the stage in a triple-breasted, oversized beige suit, goes to shake hands with Stern and immediately gets whistled for a foul on Dwyane Wade.

I would say the guard position in general.

I'm kinda with dfp, my second choice is PG in order to have one after Kidd becomes a memory. The C position will probably be filled by Diop with part of the MLE, so worrying about that in the draft may not be feasible.

since sg is probably our biggest need, wouldnt you rather go after a jr smith or a better sg with our full mle and try to draft a backup center rather than sign diop with about half then have half left for another backup player and if we get a draft pick we select another backup. That doesnt really help us out that much.

where we could end up in the draft would not allow us to draft a quality backup center.

I don't think we have as big a need at the 2 as we used to. The problem with playing Harris and Terry together was defense, but now we have Kidd who is big enough to guard 2's. Also, Terry's shooting and ability to run the court fit very well with Kidd.

A guy who can create off the dribble late in games would make us a lot better, but most of those guys are stars. I just don't think we have the trade pieces to get the caliber of player that would really make a difference.

I don't understand why everyone feels that we need a shooting guard. What's wrong with Terry? Yeah, he's small, and I'd rather him at PG, but he's the only guy we have that really stretches the floor when he's in the game.

Because he can't guard anyone bigger than him

He's a good enough offensive player that it makes up for any defensive shortcomings. Furthermore, if you get rid of Terry, you have to get someone who can hit a 3, because he's the only consistent threat on the team.

I don't think we should get rid of him at all, he is perfect for coming off the bench but we can't have him starting. There are too many teams that have size at the 2 guard and will take advantage of that mismatch way too much. Terry is someone that is either on or not and if hes not he shouldn't be in, but when he's hitting shots then we can leave him in at the two with the starters.
