Re: Better future: Miami or Chicago?
We'll know a lot more after this year. Miami does have Wade, and let's just say Rose=Beasley for arguments sake. What young player on the Heat is better then Gordon and Deng? Who on the Heat has the potential (there's that word again) of Tyrus Thomas or Joakim Noah (again, how they play this year should be a good indicator of what kind of player they'll become). Sefolosha has also done very well against (a not 100%) Wade in the past. Assuming Rose becomes a good defender/rebounder, the Bulls will have a good defender/rebounder at every position.

+1. Couldn't have put it any better.

Well, we do have Blount. He can shoot it from anywhere on the floor (not that it goes in the basket, or near the basket every time), but he can still shoot it from anywhere.

Re: Better future: Miami or Chicago?
I'd pick Miami.
They have a legit superstar in Wade and have added a blue chip big to go along with an All-Star at small forward. Chalmers is going to be a player and Miami's cap situation is a whole lot more friendly than Chicago's.
Chicago to me is a mess. They have a glut of guards and forwards that are playing out of position.

Re: Better future: Miami or Chicago?
Coming from a Bulls fan I have to say Miami because of Wade and Beasley. But Chicago is really close to them especially if they get a post scoring presence like Brand or a superstar like Wade. Even if they don't I think they can still be good.

People forget Chicago swept the Heat 2 years ago with basically the same team. This year was a fluke. They are a good defensive team across the board. While Miami is putting their faith in 6'7" Beasley and Blount down low. Let's be serious.

Re: Better future: Miami or Chicago?
Coming from a Chicago fan,I'd have to say Miami
Proven Superstar(Albeit an injury prone one)>Anything the Bulls have
The Heat also have another potential star in Beasley.
If Rose could become a star I'd probably take the Bulls though.I like our depth versus Miami's,but what we need to do,is package some of these guys for a star.
I'm going to bookmark this thread, and save it for a rainy day.

Re: Better future: Miami or Chicago?
Teams win titles with stars, So i give the heat the edge. Chicago has more potential but how many people in the nba dont have potential? Everything depends on Rose(Is he Chris Paul or Rafer Alson) and Wade(06" Wade or Wade 07"). 2010, will also be huge for both teams, if one of them lands a major free agent, everything changes.

People are forgetting that when Dwyane Wade is himself, the Heat beat the Bulls on the way to winning a championship.
I like Chicago's potential, but in reality Miami already has that bonafide superstar in Wade ( a guy who's at a level Rose dreams of reaching). You add another potential star in Beasley, an all-star in Marion....I think Miami has to get the nod...for now.

Enough of the 6'7 crap. He's isn't 6'7''. Basketball isn't played without shoes. Michael Beasley is 6-8 1/4.
Practically the same damn height as the following: David West, Carlos Boozer, Elton Brand, and Antawn Jamison.
All them dudes are all stars. Again enough with that crap.
And Michael Beasley >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tyrus Thomas, and I don't even have to see Beasley play an NBA minute yet to know that will be the case.

Yet, the same Miami team that got swept (the example you're referring to) isn't still in tact and I'd bet a Healthy Dwyane Wade (which he wasn't in that series, and after what was stated, he shouldn't even have tried to come back from that injury, but should've opted for surgery instead) against a Chicago team still trying to re-find it's identity -- just as long as Wade is surrounded by a team worth writing home about; defense, scoring, rebounding etc.

David West is 6'9.5 with a 7'4 wingspan....

For arguments sake, lets just cancel beasly and rose out.
So other than wade, what heat young players are better or have more potential than Deng, Gordon, Thomas, Noah, or Sefelosha?.....
Wades a Star, but you cant just determine an entire franchise's outlook just off of one player.

Thats true, when Wade is healthy he is a completely different player. However, the Heats bench is the tulsa 66ers.

Problem is, for Chicago to get a superstar player like Wade, they'll need to package 3 or 4 of the guys you listed. Whereas the Heat can use Marion, Haslem at the very least to acquire some depth at the level of the guys you mentioned. Plus Sefolosha hasn't really done much more than our young guys like Dorell Wright and Daequan Cook. I'd put them on the same level or close.
It's much harder to get a top 5-10 player than stockpile guys that are top 30-60 guys.
