It isn't even a competition, it is Rose.

Don't kid yourself, Mayo and Rose are on the same level.

I'm sorry, but I do not buy the Rose hype. I think he is a great talent, but I also think Mayo is a great talent.

I would not be surprised if Mayo turns out to be the best guard in this draft. Actually, I pretty much expect that to happen.

Williams and Paul pretty much pushed PG play into the spotlight, where it has since been overrated. I think the media see Paul and Williams and instantly equate Rose to this type of player. I don't. Is it possible Rose will be as good as them? Sure. But, I do not think it is a foregone conclusion, and my money is on, No. I think All Star is Rose's ceiling, while super star (Paul and possibly Willams) is not in his future.

Mayo seems to have the best all around game of ANYONE in the draft. Beaseley second. Mayo scoring just a slight advantage over Beaseley due to his willingness and abilities to defend.

Beaseley is the best offensive talent in this draft. Mayo is the best all around player. Rose is the best PG prospect.

Rose has the most potential, but Mayo is more of a sure thing IMO(if he plays SG, which he should on Memphis).

It's Derrick Rose, but it's closer than you think.

And who the hell voted Jerryd Bayless second? Blazers homers.

LOL Bayless has been considered the 2nd best pg prospect all year. Why should it be a surprise he came in second on the poll?

Wouldn't be surprised if it was Bayless dude can ball, and he has his head on straight humble guy who is hungry to prove the doubters wrong.

1.O.J Mayo
Top of the list. This guy wants to prove that he belongs. Very hard worker which I believe will elevate him above the rest of the 2, great natural talent, great competitor. Has swagger to his game.

2.Derrick Rose
Just under him is Rose, he will be an star in this league, hes been basically thrust into it. Everyone knows his potential but I dont know if hell push himself as hard as either Mayo or Bayless. Abit too soft spoken?

3.Jerryd Bayless
Hes said he'll prove the NBA, but im not %100 sold he will. Being on a loaded young Portland team will mean he'll have to take a backseat to all the other stars of the team.

O.J Mayo -> Derrick Rose -> Jerryd Bayless

1. Rose
2. Bayless
3. Mayo
4. Augustin
5. Westbrook
6. Rush
7. Gordon

And I honestly think Kyle Weaver could surprise a few people - not a great scorer, but he plays great d, and is a very solid playmaker.

Wow, I wonder if anyone actually watched Mayo play in college? He is a decent talent, but not the out-of-this-world talent some people think he is. he is not going to be Kobe. He loves his jumper too much> He doesn't create for others that great. He is a little short for the position he is going to play. And he seemed a little full of himself. He did step up some games, and I'll give him that, but he wasn't nearly as consistent as a Derrick Rose was. I just feel that his junior high hype has continued to now even though he hasn't really put all this great talent together yet. I see him as a Jason Richardson type talent at the next level with better ball-handling skills. Good, but not great. If he does turn out to have the work ethic of J-Rich (which I personally haven't noticed yet but I didn't get to see his improvement from year one to two in NCAA), then he could turn into a very, very good guard.

If I had to rank now, I would say it would go like this:

1. Derrick Rose (a true point is always more important than a 2-guard unless his name is Kobe/Jordan, IE out of this world)

2. Brandon Rush (I just love his all-around game and feel he can make a good impact on both sides of the ball, and he's not in love with his shot, injuries could become a factor but I'll downplay them for now)

3,4,5 Mayo, Bayless, Gordon: They all have a talent to score, Mayo has the best talent to become a great defender as well, but its going to come down to who works the hardest and doesn't fall in love with his shot. All these guys can move up, but right now I can't move them up this list.

I think talent and potential wise Mayo and Rose are clearly the best prospects in the draft. But right behind them is Jerryd Bayless who is going into a situation in Portland that is built for him to succeed, and that has to make the rest of the guards in this draft envious (maybe not Rose, because going #1 overall to your hometown team is pretty awesome). Having an all-star along side you in the back court and what should be a dominant front line in the making, should help take the pressure off you and allow you to do what you do best. Jerryd is also playing to prove people wrong, he already has a huge chip on his shoulder, so we know he has that fire in him. It seems to me that he is in a situation where he can't fail, and if he does it just means he wasn't that good (which isn't likely).

Rose will be very good.
Mayo should have a great career.
Bayless will have a great, great opportunity to do big things.
Augustin should be very good as well, I'm surprised that he isn't getting more love, especially with Larry Brown coaching him from day one.
