PG Option to solve SF

Post#1 » by RJ 24 » Sun Jun 29, 2008 6:15 pm

I was thinking about how we can fill that void in our lineup at SF. Yes Childress would be nice, Harrington would be nice, but realistically, I don't think we have anything intruiging to offer their respective teams. I don't like Pietrus very much either, so, how about we trade for Kyle Lowry. The guy had a good season last year in Memphis and he is being shopped. The Grizz have a lot of PGs. Getting Lowry is affordable and realistic. I think a S/T with Krstic for Lowry is possible. Krstic would start from day 1 on the Grizz at PF. Give Lowry a new deal because Krstic wouldn't make 1.5-2.0 MIL a year like Lowry. Harris could move over to the SG and VC to the SF.

PG - Lowry/Marcus
SG - Harris/CDR/Ager
SF - VC/Hassell/Simmons
PF - Yi/SWAT/Anderson
C - Boone/Lopez/Swift

Put Swift on reserve. Simmons is gaurenteed there anyway with his injury problems.

I'm really not a fan of Harris the the 2 guard...or Lowry/Marcus handling the PG duties together.

^ Miller was just traded to the T-Wolves.

What's wrong with Lowry? He is a mature player and he played great last year on a bad team. I thought it was a good idea... :-(

No WaY!....Harris is not a 2 guard hes a point guard hes 10 times better than lowry at itt. Our tallest player in our backcourt would be 6'3 how R we gonna guard the Kobes, Mcgrady, Allens n other taller guards

Exactly, if miller was still in memphis we wouldn't be able to trade Swift for him. Now that he's in minny there's a chance they could bite out and take back the expiring contract and a 1st rounder...

Take a fly on Gerald Green. He's young and cheap......nothing to lose. He could finally wake the F'up.

I like Lowry, and think he would be the ideal backup for Harris. But acquiring him is NOT an answer to our SF situation.

I doubt it. If anything, I'd offer him a summer league spot. See how serious is in wanting to come back.

The other options are free agents to sign to 2 year deals.

Mickael Pietrus- He'll get a longer contract then 2 years from someone else.....Miami would probably out bid us.

These guys we could get for 2 year deals:
Ricky Davis
Matt Barnes
Bostjan Nachbar
Linton Johnson
DerMarr Johnson
James Jones

These guys will probably resign with their current team:
Antawn Jamison
Michael Finley
James Posey
Bonzi Wells

I think Simmons is going to have a GREAT YEAR with us. We dont have to really worry about a SF. Maybe a back up but there is ways to give Simmons some rest by going small or big at times. The only problem will be if he gets hurt then we will really be in trouble. We would have to call KVH and tell him that this time he really has to earn his money.

^^^^ Regardless, i guarantee we're not going into our season with this roster. We'll have at least one other guy who can play the 3 so let's just see what Thorn and Kiki plan on doing.

Trade Stroswift, Marcus Williams for Luke Ridnour throw Ager or Hassell in the deal too.

Matt Barnes sounds good as a free agent a solid vet.
I got the burner-Kevin Durant

Cream rises to the top-Nic Claxton
