The guy that is missing. Sounds crazy.

Post#1 » by Togo » Sun Jun 29, 2008 3:18 pm

I know this is going to sound crazy...but.

We could try to get Matrix back.

Barbosa/Diaw for Matrix works under CBA.

The Heat need a facilitator (Diaw) and a running mate for Wade (Barbosa).

Matrix would be an expiring.

Drawbacks would we depth, and chemistry. But on paper we would be pretty good.

Nash/Strawberry
Bell/Tucker
Marion/Hill
Amare/Marion/FA
Shaq/Lopez

for what? wine again for being the 4th option behind amare, nash and shaq...?

he was traded because of that so there is no point of getting him back.

Miami wont do that because it would ruin thier cap space plan. But if that trade is on the table, hell, YES!

Realistically, thats not even possible. You cannot reacquire a player that was traded during a season before next years off season. He needs to opt out and sign with us to come play with us, which he clearly wont do.

He didn't want to be hear, and that's that. He wouldn't even be the 3rd option anymore....he'd be the 4th.

I'll tell you the guy who's missing...

Bigger than Marion
Not a great athlete
Can score at will
Hits the three
Can play multiple positions
OK defender
Likes pressure
Young

Joe friggin Johnson

You put him at the SF and move Hill to the bench and wow.

Maybe we could trade the Hawks Boris Diaw, Robin Lopez and cash for him!

^

And you lose size again?

The purpose of adding Lopez was to eliminate the reliance on O'Neal come defending the pick and roll... which he couldnt.

Lopez will be a POOR man's Chandler, in that he will concentrate on blocking shots, running, grabbing rebounds and just being active on the defensive end. Suns need a legit big man who concentrate on defense nextto Stoudemire.

I would love for Marion to come back.. but to many factors as why he wouldnt and couldnt
first, he wants a BIG extension, main reason Suns traded him. If he would agree to a 11~12 Million for 4 year extension, that would be sweet.

But, convincing him to be 3rd option for that money?... probably not. BUT, if he misses out on another all-star berth this season. He would probably consider playing for the Suns where he is an All-Star.

I don't think matrix was really happy in Phx, so I have no idea why he would come back, but he is still one of my favorite players so ill be happy if we get him here.

We tried to extend him, but he wanted more than we could afford. When we started to looking at trades involving him, he started getting tired with the charades that management was showing him. He'd have to suck up a lot of pride in order to come back here.

Yeah, we need him, but it won't happen.

mkot said, Sarver said he was not worth it. Hmm, well, lets think about it. He said 45 he would offer, JJ and his crew wanted 50. Sarver paid 65 for nash and 45 (I think) for Q and at the same time, bought the suns. He just commited to over 500 million dollars man. Give me a break. JJ at the time, was not worth 50 million.

Your GM at the time should have done a better job and not have brought in Q for the contract. BC should have said, resign JJ, bring in Nash and find another solid, cheaper player to bring in. Thats more on BC's GM ability than Sarver who just bought the team. He was on this team, was the basketball mind, not sarver.

JJ is the guy we have needed on this team, but then again, he was crying about being 4th option on this team, what makes you think his mind set would have changed?
