Bulls Fan Inquiry

Post#1 » by Deepness5134 » Sun Jun 29, 2008 5:59 pm

Just wondering what you guys think of Diaw as your backup PF? I know he makes quite a bit of cash, but he did "earn" it after that one decent season.

I just ask becuase i'd be wondering if you guys would want to do a Hinrich for Diaw trade. I think their contracts are fairly similar..if i recall diaw's contract is a bit less then HInrich's so you'd have to throw in a filler, but I think this would be a decent trade for both of us. W/ Rose, we dont really need hinrich anymore. Along w/ that, you guys would get a pretty good denfending pg behind nash and having a Hinrich/Bell backcourt would be great against the likes of CP3, Kobe, Wade, etc..

We'd get a pretty good PF (IMO) to start for us. I feel like if diaw gets a chance to start, he'd put up numbers like he did when amare was out. I dont see why (other than depth) you'd want to keep diaw especially if you have amare (which can i just say...i absolutely love him and thinks you guys one hell of a pick in that draft - wasn't he like the 9th pick or something? I dream of the day that maybe, somehow, he becomes a bull haha)

Anyway, i think this trade would be decent for both teams. (if it isn't...please tell me why)

I'd do it but you would have to throw in next years draft pick.

That would give the Suns a healthy amount of their salary directed towards the PG spot.

Sarver would be wary.

Thing is, I would rather have Sarver pay the $1,000,000 to Dragic's Eurotrash team in order to bring him over on an extremely cost-effective rookie scale contract than to pay the millions for Hinrich.

I think that, if he truly is the PG of the future that Kerr and Griffin have hyped him to be, you bite the bullet and buy him out in order to let him absorb from Nash for two years rather than just one.

You would get no arguement from me regarding us trading Diaw. Seriously.

I'd rather have Drew Gooden than KH.

Diaw + Barbosa for Hinrich + Gooden

^^^^^ i'd do that in a heart beat.

we get even more depth in the front , and we get a defensive backcourt player who can play with both bell and nash.

I agree, Gooden is a great banger on the boards and would be great backing up Amare. Also, Kirk is a guy that can run an offense and also play defense. He can play the one or two and is a great fit for spelling Nash's minutes.

I'd be completely ok w/ that actaully. Taking away Gooden's minutes would give the PF spot to just Diaw/Thomas, and i want Thomas to get his minutes as well. Only problem i see for us would be getting back Barbosa. I like the guy and think he's very talented, but getting him leaves us w/ the same gaurd glut that we have now. (not your problem tho). I do think that if we don't sign gordon, i would LOVE this deal cuz it gives us someone who can take up gordon's minutes. I dont know too much about barbs, i havent seen him play all that much, but i have heard some decent things.

Thing is, even with that deal, we take on an extra 2million, meaning lux tax. I would much rather pay that 2 million for a buyout of Dragic's contract and pay a FA banger vets minimum or part of MLE.

Word so far is Dragic DOESN'T HAVE a buyout for THIS year. However next summer it is reported that Dragic's buyout with Tau Ceramica is $1.5 million. Again, with contract buyouts of players and draft picks, an NBA team is only authorized to pay $500k towards a players buyout, which mean NEXT SUMMER, the Suns can give their $500k towards Dragic's buyout with Dragic covering the remaining $1 million.

Suns cannot spend more than 500k for Dragic's buyout, meaning he and his agent would have to fit the rest of the negotiation bill.

I'll do this trade in a heartbeat. Nash is not getting younger and needs to cut some playing time. Hinrich can play some SG minutes behind Bell as well. Barbosa needs to be traded for a 3 and 4 though and maybe some expirings. Say Barbosa for Maggette.

Nash / Hinrich / Strawberry
Bell / Giricek / Strawberry
Maggette / Hill / Tucker
Amare / Skinner
Shaq / Lopez

^^ um sign me up

last year i went to the bulls board and proposed a diaw for nocioni deal and i got flamed out of there, i was saying he would be a great post option there and i want nocioni as a tough 3 point shooting SF which ive been whinging for for ages. I want someone like Posey, etc and noce would be a perfect fit

i would do that trade in a heartbeat

contrary to others, i also think hihnrich would be a perfect option at the guard spot for us with a view to take over from nash in the future

and gooden speaks for himself, gives us some nice hustle and insurance off the bench

sold

hell yeah, this would solve all our problems in one move. and i realy think that
hinrich would do well in here. could learn alot from mr. nash.
i am not so high on gooden but ok, if we have to do it we do it.
noicioni would also fit very well in here, high iq player who bangs and gets to the rim,
something we´re missing for years.

sign me up, too

bulls need diaws low post offense but with diaw, they are too weak in rebounding and defense. bulls have 3 good offensive players from pg, sg and small forward already, all they need are 2 big men that plays defense and will rebound the ball.

not a smart move for them i think.

its going to be a great trade for suns though..

I dont think Suns want any other long contracts, except Stoudemire.

Sarver, Kerr are pretty much going to ride out Nash and O'neal and sign minimum contracts and very short terms also.

The one reason why I think the Magette + 7th for Barbosa + 15th, didnt go ahead, as reported that Suns never was close to a deal with Barbosa. Because Magette would need to be resigned to an extension.

The plan right now, is to ride out Nash, Bell and O'Neal.
Sign minimum contracts.
Trade Barbosa or Diaw for a "good" player that has an expiring, and without extension.

would be nice, but that is some really expensive bench players.
