i was thinking. the pacers are trying to get rid of tinsley and when he is healthy, he is very productive and i think next to dwight he would be great. he's a natural point guard. we could do bogans, cook, and redick for tinsley for their second rounder next year. i know you all will say well what if he gets in injured, well jameer could step in and start whenever tinsley were to go down (although i think him and JO had the same thing going on, leading a 50+ win team would magically heal an injuries he had) and i personally think jameer is better and more productive off the bench. i think we win this trade because of the draft and cook is VERY streaky and replaceable. then we'd resign dooling and evans and give the MLE to childress (preferably) or pietrus for our 2 guard.
pg-tinsley/nelson
sg-childress/lee/dooling
sf-turkoglu/evans
pf-lewis/battie/augustine
c-howard/gortat/vazquez (assuming he stays true to his word and comes over)
this leaves 2 spots open, but i would only fill one of those because if we sign another PG it would cause a log jam there. signing a forward, especially a 4, would allow us to run a lineup of turk and rashard at the 2 and 3 a lot more, which i think would be a very effective lineup.

No. Tinsley has had other problems besides injuries. Why is it everyone is trying to add these guys that teams have had trouble with to the Magic's roster? There's a reason they are trouble for their current teams and they are looking to get rid of them. Tinsley already has cost two coaches their jobs in Indiana. I do think he does really have trouble with his knee, though. I think his situation is different that JOs. I think the Pacers traded him for much the same reason that the Magic traded Tracy. He just didn't make as much noise about it, and their fans were ready for it to happen.
Oh, and as an aside, Dooling is not going to re-sign to be the third-stringer. He'll go somewhere else. He could do that anyway, but trying to make him play third string would guarantee it. For the record, though, that's not why I wouldn't trade for Tinsley. That's all on Tinsley.

No to Tinsley. He is not better than Nelson, and we do not need to use our trade assets on a pg. We need to trade for a 4 if we trade at all.

I understand that Tinsley is injured quite often, but to say that Jameer Nelson is better than Tinsley (when healthy of course) is a very wrong statement. Tinsley is a 15pt 9asst 4/5reb guy and is actually a very good PG, of course again when healthy. I can see why you don't want him, we don't want him either, but it's definitely not because he's a bad player. No disrespect to everyone's opinions by the way, just wanted to let you know that he actually is a very effective player, and definitely better than Nelson. I'm not saying Nelson won't eventually be better, because I believe he will but as of now Tinsley still has his number. The only reason we don't want him is because of the extra baggage that his strip club obsession brings.
