So let's see...a person who's worked within the organization, or another news journalist who covers it with his sources?
Which goes to show you don't have a clue. Theres been a ton load of scouts. Even Stan was a scout and he's well known down here for saying he had little inside info on the Heat. He was far removed from the organization. You can have scouts that never darken the the doors of the Front offices. They file their report on a player and they are done. They don't even have to ever have visited the city they are doing their work for and it assures them no inside information. Its like a contract job.
Sorry, but Ira Winderman is exactly what John Denton is, a journalist. A respectable journalist sure, but I'll take Givony over WInderman any day. That's my choice though.
Well of course, you put Thief on the same level as Denton in this very thread so I wouldn't expect a rational approach. As a matter of fact you can say that Ira works for the Heat. He has fairly regular spots on Heat broadcasts. He knows and is friends with a host of people in the organization. That happens when you have been covering a team and you are the most reliable source for a team over 20 years. Sorry but your journalists up in central florida can't tie his shoe laces. Schmitz in particular is a joke and could never work in a major city like Miami.
All of which is immaterial anyway because as has been pointed out to you Givony's quote never mentioned a source only what is reportedly so - a clear indication he has no direct source in mind and is not naming one just what he's heard second or third hand. So it bears no parrallel to what Denton reported. Denton said point blank he had a source in the War room of the magic draft that told him that was the figure. IF the best magic sports writer lies then you are in a sorry way. Face it son (to use thiefs language)- no report contradicts Denton as to what was offered to the Magic.
You fail on the Miami analysis but it doesn't even matter. If tomorrow morning it is reported they paid ten million it wouldn't mean that the Magic were asked to pay that for any of the bigs they could have used. Denton's figure would hold cause in case you haven't noticed the Miami Heat aint Orlando Magic. So its all a bg smoke screen on your and thief's part. So proceed mocking cougar for choosing to believe Denton. Nothing could demonstrate how far you guys will go in defense of the your various fanboys.
