Kristic?

Post#1 » by blaha112 » Mon Jun 30, 2008 6:22 pm

The nets forum has people that seem to want to give up Kristic plus Swift for Shawne Williams and Daniels. what do people think? The nets seem like a good partner since they have millions of PFs/Cs...

That would mean that Krstic would have to sign an awful cheap deal to make that work financially (like $3 million or less). It seems like he could get the MLE at least. I always thought we'd have to do a Krstic S&T/Ager for Williams/Daniels deal, but I guess if we could get Krstic to sign for 5 years and like $15 million like the Nets fans must be advocating, I'd jump on that right away. He's a downright bargain if locked up long-term at around $3 million or less.

That would not be that bad of a deal. Kristic has had some injury problems but maybe he could come back healthy.

My opinion of Shawne Williams' talent is much higher than yours. I believe this is a horrible trade because of that.

I don't particularly value Williams very highly, but that may be because I'm tired of off-court problems. I'd do this deal in a heartbeat though.

Totally. Shawne Williams has gotten into too much trouble for my liking to stay on this team. We are in no shape to give people a 3rd and 4th chance. It will only put our franchise in the hole even further while Williams smiles on his way to the bank.

As for Kristic, i'd love the deal. Although, i am not sure if it really upgrades our team? Is he an upgrade over Murphy? I know he's a decent defender but from what i have heard is he's a horrid interior defender. Maybe i mis-read, i read an article around the trade deadline last year.

I dont like the fact that we would have to sign Krstic and his injuries to a long term deal to get him. I like Shawne's potential and cheap salary more than taking a chance on another injury riddled big guy. We are rolling the dice with Ford's injuries...lets not make a habit out of it.

Depends on if his knee checks out with our doctors. I mean it generally takes at least a year to recover fully from major knee surgery like Nenad had, but his numbers are significantly down from a season go.
