Team sources confirmed a Tribune report that Bernie Bickerstaff has landed a job on Del Negro's staff. The Bulls are still negotiating with veteran assistant Bob Ociepka and veteran head coach Del Harris.

I wish him only the best. It's gonna be good for Del Negro to have respected experienced man next to him on the bench.

Hey all, Bulls fan here...

Can any of you tell me how Bernie handled Okafor's development? We haven't had a legit "big man coach" since we fired Bill Cartwright. Not sure if Bickerstaff qualifies as such, but could he be our go-to guy in bringing along Tyrus and Noah?

Thanks.

He's not a big man's coach.

He's a good motivator, and he's a player's coach. I don't know what sort of role he has as an assistant coach, but I imagine he will be a good mentor to Del Negro and help him learn the ropes of coaching, and would be a good go-between if things get rough between the players and the new coach.

Bernie was really good at getting his guys to play harder. Want proof, look at the roster and games played of the Bobcats during the 2nd season and explain to me how they won more then 18 games.

I really thought Bernie would be a good fit for the Knicks, but thats when I thought Mark Jackson was getting that gig.

Bernie will be good at getting the players motivated and helping Del Negro along.

Michael Brown and Pete Myers are there to help the Bulls bigs...according to Browns profile on nba.com

He'll be good for TT in that he'll help him get his head straight and respect the game and his team.

But he's not a good coach.

He is, however, a great motivator of men.

But he's not a good substitution maker in clutch time
