How do would you think we would get 2 first round picks "realistically"?

Buy one I suppose. I heard 3 mil was the going price for New Orleans' pick. I think Koufas would have been worth it, imo. Unless Fran is really coming over we need a big to groom next to Dwight. Koufas would have been very nice in that role.

There's also chatter on the boards that he potentially could stay in Greece ...

even off of the boards, the ESPN crew talked about it on draft night and a few of the draft sites have made mention of it as well...

I'm going with D. I have no problems with the Magic picking Courtney Lee. I think he was a great pick, but there's so much more we could have done with this draft. When other teams like players regardless of where they are in the draft, they figure out a way to acquire them. I would've given it a B if the Magic regularly made moves so I could give them the benefit of the doubt. Some top 2nd round picks would have been worth the money considering Chalmers and CDR were still available. It just pisses me off that this team doesn't do anything. No moves are explored for players above scrub level. Otis is just doing a horrible job.

So thus far an overwhelming majority of voters give Otis a B (combined).

I'm honestly surprised nobody choose F with all talk about being too cheap to move up and it being a horrible mistake/opportunity missed.

Yup, and Otis would get Crucified if that had happened!

I need to see something creative out of Otis before I give him a grade higher than a C. A C for me means the guy is doing the right moves but not creating opportunity, only going with what is available. I guess I like to see more risks. In Otis's defense though, in that story about the turtle vs the hare, the turtle does end up winning the race. So maybe taking what you are given and not risking anything is the way the Magic need to go right now. We do have a core in place, which is more than 90% of NBA teams can say right now, so maybe just complimenting that core with small time moves is best. I guess we will just see.

I gave a B-. It would've been higher if Otis had made an additional move like getting an additional first or getting a 2nd (or two).

Otis gets a C from this Nets/Mavs fan.

Seriously, Courtney could be a good player, but

a) they shouldn't have promised to pick him, when their bigger need (frontcourt depth) was abundant at that area of the 1st round, and

b) they knew they were going to try to lure Maggette from LAC.

If you're not bringing in Lee to start from day one, I don't see why you would pass on Koufos or Arthur.

well thanks for chiming in

a) you do not know that Orlando promised to draft him, you based that off media reports and speculation.

b) they did NOT know they would lure Maggette here, in fact there is no proof as of 12:42pm that the Magic have made any move in his direction, outside of possibly offering him the MLE

c) Lee was not brought in to start from day one, if it happens, great, he's a rookie, starting should not be expected if you are picked outside of the lottery, Otis and SVG know this...I dont see it as an impossibility, im just saying, I dont think he was drafted as an instant starter...

d) season hasnt started
