Post your starting line up with our current lineup.

Post#1 » by notque » Mon Jun 30, 2008 7:31 pm

PG: T.J. Ford / Jarret Jack / Marquis Daniels
SG: Mike Dunleavy / Brandon Rush / Marquis Daniels
SF: Danny Granger / Shawne Williams / Marquis Daniels
PF: Shawne Willaims / Troy Murphy / Jeff Foster / Maceo Bastian
C: Rasho Nesterovic / Roy Hibbert / Jeff Foster

with variations for lineups. Foster becomes starting center vs. any team with a dominant PF.

So our lineup vs. Celtics would be

PG: T.J. Ford
SG: Mike Dunleavy
SF: Danny Granger
PF: Jeff Foster
C: Troy Murphy

Then switch players out as required.

Ideally, PF's will be fast runners unless against all star PF. So Maceo, or Shawne
C's will be defenders.

I like this squad. You may not. What would yours be?

Most crazy assessment I have? Shawne Williams will be a better player than Danny Granger when all is said and done provided off the court issues don't derail it.

Personally, the only problem i see with this lineup is at the 4 spot. We have to package tinsley and williams somehwere to get a decent PF to fill that hole.

It's rumored the Bucks might deal Charlie V.

I'd offer Williams, Tinsley and cash. You never know the Bucks could use a point guard. If that doesn't get it done we could always give them Diener too ( crowd Favorite).

Ford/ Jack
Dunleavy/ Rush
Granger/ Williams
Murphy/ Foster/ Williams
Rasho/ Hibbert/ Foster

I like this 10- man rotation, on paper.

Ford/Jack/Diener
Dunleavy/Rush/Graham
Granger/Williams/Daniels
Murphy/Baston/McRoberts
Foster/Rasho/Hibbert

With Foster possibly stepping down to PF for many minutes to backup Murphy and allowing Hibbert playing time, if he earns it or is ready to get solid playing time.

My starting lineup for the moment is Ford, Dunleavy, Granger, Murphy, Rasho.

With plenty of playing time for Foster and Jack.

And make sure that Rush, Hibbert, and Williams get regular chances to play so that they can develop. I'd especially like to see Williams at power forward, to see if that has any chance of working. If Williams can play there, it relieves the glut at small forward and bolsters what could well be the team's weakest position.

if rush is good enough id like to see him start and have dunleavy be a spark off the bench...

but at the beginning of the year id prob go with

ford, dunleavy, granger, murphy, and have rasho/foster/hibbert fight for minutes at the 5...

Ford/Jack
Rush/Dunleavy
Granger/Williams
Murphy/Rasho
Foster/Hibbert

With Dunleavy being used in a Manu Ginobli type role.

Ford
Granger
Dunleavy
Murphy
Rasho

Wherever Rasho goes, people count him out, but he always ends up earning the starting job at the start of the season- especially because he is a really great training camp guy- comes in shape, learns quickly...Pacers need interior defense and he has good chemistry with Ford.

For a real fast lineup that could run the floor I think this could really catch some defenses off-guard...

Ford
Rush
Dunleavy

I'm with PP. no rookie is going to start at the beginning of the season. things may change but it'll start out something like

Ford, Jack, Diener
Dunleavy, Rush
Granger, Williams, Graham (inactive)
Foster, Nasho, Hibbert
Murphy, Baston

I've left out Tinsley and Daniels because I think they'll be traded. perhaps we'll get something back that needs to plug in somewhere but for now I'm pretending that they're both traded to someone with cap room who gives us some kind of conditional draft pick.

I do not see the power forward problem that everyone is talking about. we've got five bigs without even counting small ball lineups with Granger or Williams at 4. we have four legitimate options at center and the options at power forward. roster looks well balanced to me although I wouldn't mind adding a couple of rookie prospects to send to the D-League.

This is what i'm going with as well. I don't think we'll see Roy Hibbert play all that much until like Christmas, but i also believe Nerterovic will get alot of playing time. The guy is a good player, he's actually pretty quick and has good hands. He's incredibly smart as well.

Troy Murphy is a lock to start i think. If we find another power forward, then i think Murphy will give Rasho a real tussle for the starting center job. Murphy is a perfect JOB player. Experts say TJ Ford is one of the best PGs in the league to find players from the arc, and Pacers have Dunleavy and Granger who are lethal and with that being one of our main weapons on offense, it will allow Ford to Murphy connection to open up. Don't forget, Murphy is a 40% three-point shooter.

So I'm the only person that wants Shawne to start?

i think that'd be a pretty potent combination, 3 point shooters at 4 positions, and a point guard that can drive effectively.

That sounds like a winning combo, and we play packline defense, so a guy like hibbert could be all you need to defend the paint.

I really hope they try my plan. If it fails, fine. But Shawne Williams would be a dynamite 4.

Bucks fan here...I'd take Williams and Diener straight up for Charlie V.
