I guess Bassy and Kirk are gone, then. I'm assuming that's what that will mean. Boy are we gasping for a back-up PG.

I think this was brought up in another thread. That said what it means is we can match any offers to Gomes, Smith, and Richard from other teams. We can still sign Snyder or Telfair, but weren't going to offer them the qualifying amount as we'd probably look to sign them for less.

I figured they wouldn't get offers as it locks them into a salary more than they're worth

Will Bassy understand? Probably not.

If we made an offer to Craig Smith. Will you expect T'wolves to match it?

If its less than the midlevel, probably. Anything at or above the midlevel, probably not.

I don't think anyone would give Craig Smith the mid-level.

True, but you never know we might.

Crtaig Smith plays the position of the least need for the Wolves roster. Back up PF. No way we pay him near the mid-level.

My understanding is we are letting Bassy explore and look. I am not sure if he will be back, but we like him.

Craig would be great as injury protection, but outside of that we might as well just let him go. Especially with the pickup of Cardinal and Collins. There are few teams in the NBA that are a poorer fit for Craig than Minnesota with the roster changes post KG.

I really like Craig, but I think Devilz nailed it that with this roster he's not a good fit. I think we'd match any low offers, but I think a multi-year deal or more than $2-3 million per we let him go.

Makes sense for both sides. I'm sure Memphis is probably holding out to see what they could get for Lowry or Crit before they deal, but this seems fair.

I would love that deal. I like Craig Smith like most of us do, but he will not be able to get more than 10-15 min off our bench, if that with Love an Jefferson. Apparently giving him the QO means we either have plans to keep him, or to trade him. If we were willing to simply let him go without a fight we might have just let him go.
