Asking if he is top 5 is an insult to Chris Paul, he is the best player in the NBA IMO.

Top 5 in my opinion currently is

1). Lebron
2). Kobe
3). Chris Paul
4). Duncan
5). Nash

This thread is pretty funny, either he isn't even on par with Ginobli, or he's the best player in the league.

No middle ground?

I think he's borderline top 5, depending on how I feel like rating Dwyane Wade on a given day.

top 6

These two are changeable
Bron
Kobe

As are these
Duncan
Garnett

So are these
Paul
Wade

Then it's
Howard
Nowitzki
Yao
Nash

That's my top 10.

If it is by value, then maybe.

I think that he is in the neighbourhood, but I would probably take Wade, LeBron, Kobe, Howard, Garnett, Duncan, and maybe Ginobili over him. He's definitely at least in the conversation, but I wouldn't call him a lock yet.

One of these does not belong.

This is why I love Manu homers.

Top 5, I don't think so... I mean there's still a few awesome players ahead of him.
He's gonna keep getting better, and in a couple of years I think he'll be part of the NBA Top 5.

Wow. In a couple of years? You mean we have to wait a couple of years?

Well Paul is undisputably the best point guard in the league.

He led the league in steals and assists.

He was second in the league in PER

He led his team to the second best record in the most intense and competitive conference race in NBA History.

He finished second in MVP voting.

He made the All NBA 1st team.

He was sensational in the playoffs outdueling Dirk Notwitski

He doesn't have another top five player on his team (for those who believe Manu is top 5)

So, yes, Paul is top 5. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron. At worst, imo, he's top 3 (but an argument could be made for KG and Duncan).

There's only two players that I think are clearly better than him:

Lebron and Kobe.

I didn't like Paul before this season partly b/c I was hoping he'd suck so I'd feel better about the Warriors getting Diddy instead of (potentially) Paul. I also thought he was over-rated.

But this guy is amazing. Definately a top 5 player.
