i'm going to go with the nuggets, and its a very very tough matchup. i just like the way the teams constructed more. penbeast, hope this doesnt ruin your honeymoon

ive thought since this thing started that lebron, wade and magic all need to be the primary ball handlers to be successful, and then you're going to start mcadoo at C i think will get you murdered. you say that wilt cant keep up with bob but i completely disagree with that statement, not to mention the huge mismatch that presents itself offensively for the nuggets. you can run all the double teams you want at wilt but then he'll just be able to find a fantastic shooter (billups, miller and barry) open. plus it seems like you want this team to be a jumpshooting team, well ive seen this upclose as a mavs fan, you live by the jumpshot and you die by the jumpshot.

the thing i had a hard time deciding this was how much the trio of magic/wade/lebron could dominate offensively vs. billups/miller/barry. thats where it gets tough b/c i think all 3 of the heat players could take the nuggets players off the dribble and get to the rim. and i have a tough time deciding if thats enough to overcome the advantage at C. i dont think it would be a terrible idea to try rodman on james and move barry over to nance. but i think billups size could hurt magic a little but i could see wade abuse miller and get him into foul trouble (though i could see reggie doing the exact same thing to wade running off screens)

i dont think myths defense is as good as he says it is and i dont think mcadoo will be as successful as pen thinks he would be, but the nuggets should be able to secure a good rebounding advantage with there frontcourt and they have plenty of big names when they need a big time bucket.

sorry this took so long also just been kinda neglecting it since getting back from vacation last friday.

Congrats Myth, I honestly thought you had the best team from the time the playoffs started (I know it didn't seem that way when we were matched up, but hey that's politics!) I'd be proud to say I lost to the best team in the competition ;)

Isn't this your second chip in the last three?

Hooray, I've won! :D This one is for Wilt: if only he had GMs as great as me in his actual career... ;-)

Thanks everyone for playing, especially Baller 24 for organizing this and Penbeast for helping, especially helping with my picks when I was absent (quite a suicidal move, huh? ;-)). Congrats to Pen for reaching the Finals and almost winning in the closest matchup of this league.

So you was an exception since pretty much everyone was declaring then TLA's surefire win (hey, tkb! ;-)). I think also you were getting more praise than me, but in this case deservedly since I like your squad the most out of all my direct opponents: you really maximalized your chances considering drafting position, perhaps only were too shy in arguing your chances. ;-)

Definitely so. ;-)

Yep. My only excuse is that I was a judge in this one I didn't win. :D
But seriously: counting only leagues that were successfully completed, I also participated in 2nd All-Time League and lost in 1st round: much depends on luck here plus participants must collect experience before they really know how to play in such leagues.
BTW, statistically speaking I'm almost bound to make my record worse if participating in next such leagues - I can't keep getting high picks forever - so perhaps I shall retire and deal only with judging? ;-) But there's still some itching to start again, despite lack of time, and maybe try different team philosophy, like Pen did this time.

Congrats Myth! I probably would have voted for your guys too if I hadn't been involved, but it was fun trying to create and justify an outside/in oriented team.

Probably should have taken Walton instead of Deke, might have made a difference (particularly with a strong 3 deep center rotation) but in the real world he just wasn't a guy you could count on . . . ever.
