B-Easy vs Rose on Monday

Post#1 » by Lane1974 » Tue Jul 1, 2008 9:43 pm

I know in prior years the summer league games were on the internet, hopefully they do it this year again

After he was selected second overall by the Miami Heat, forward Michael Beasley said one of his first goals was to prove to NBA evaluators he would turn out to be the best player in his draft.

Beasley won't have to wait long to begin that process. Beasley and the Heat will face No. 1 pick Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls on Monday on the opening day of the Orlando Pro Summer League.

The Heat will hold its first minicamp practice Wednesday in preparation for the five-games-in-five-days schedule in Orlando. Joining Beasley on the Heat's summer-league roster are second-round pick Mario Chalmers and returning players Daequan Cook, Stephane Lasme and Kasib Powell.

Heat assistant Keith Askins will coach the summer-league team, which includes several other notables on the roster. Among them are former St. Joseph's forward Pat Calathes, an older brother of Florida guard Nick Calathes, former Louisville center David Padgett and former Davidson guard Jason Richards, who ranked among the nation's leaders in assists last season.

After Monday's game against the Bulls, the Heat plays games in consecutive days against the Nets, Pacers, Sonics and Magic.

I guess, if Spoelstra flops, Keith Askins is probably next in line.

Probably just for summer since DQ is wearing 20 when his number is 14.

you don't necessarily wear your jersey # in summer league games, someone's wearing #23 on our team, and 23 has been retired...

It should be a nice test for Beasley to be matched up against Tyrus Thomas in his first game. Also looking forward to Chalmers vs Rose again

Lol, what are the odds of him being listed on NBA.com @ 6"9?
If i made the betting line i would put it at 3 to 1.

PS, Will the games be televised or streamed on heat.com?
