every team is one or two injuries away from being mediocre.

...And like that, the Clips return to relevancy!

All they need is to resign Brand, fill out the roster with either vets or young guys, and things are looking really good for LA's other team. Although I think this is a sure sign the Maggette will not return.

Davis/A. Johnson?
Gordon/Mobley
Thronton/Q. Ross?
Brand/Thomas
Kaman/P. Davis?/Jordan

Looks like a playoff team to me.

Of course, the most meaningful is 3 weeks and on. But even with a couple weeks to a key guy, that can do some damage in the west.

Not every team has ordinary, general possibilities and concerns of players getting hurt, though.

Exception expired

By waiting until just before the deadline to opt out, Davis did some minor damage to the Warriors. They held a $9.9 million trade exception dating back to the Jason Richardson deal, which would have allowed them to take a player from another team for, essentially, nothing. But the Warriors did not think Davis was opting out, and with Davis on the books, the team would be right up against the luxury tax. By using the trade exception, they'd be over the tax. If the Warriors had known Davis would opt out, though, they might have used the exception--too bad for them, it expired Monday night

Revenge for what? Not overpaying him? I love baron davis to death and will miss him a lot playing on the warriors, but hey if he can sign a nice last deal of his career for $65 than more power to him. But i have no badblood against baron unless he says something bad about the warriors.

There's no doubt he's gonna kill the warriors when they play him. He's pissed Don Nelson benched him in the 2nd half of a crucial game.

I wish B.Diddy the best...just wish he could have been signed and traded to the cavs. The Clippers should be interesting next season if Brand and Davis can stay healthy. They just need to add some more depth.

The bandwagon hopping might have to be held off until Brand comes on board..

The only way both can be kept and Baron Davis gets a $65mil contract is if Brand has already reached an agreement AND taken a pay cut. Also, this means that Maggette has definitely be renounced.

Maggette is redundant in my opinion.. Low IQ player who hasnt played a full season in his life.

Thornton is going to make up for him and then some ...
