LA Times: Jamal Crawford?

Post#1 » by randomhero423 » Wed Jul 2, 2008 12:21 am

On the NYK board there is a thread about you guys pursuing Jamal Crawford as plan B to Baron Davis.

Would you do, Jamal Crawford, and Jared Jefferies for Cutino Mobley and Tim Thomas

I would do that in a heartbeat. Crawford could start at the 2 while Gordon acclimates. Jefferies is a defense upgrade to Tim Thomas although even an unmotivated Thomas destroys him offensively. The key to NY is that the contracts end a year earlier on Mobley and Thomas. That shouldn't be a concern for the Clippers. Crawford and Jefferies expire prior to Thornton and Gordon coming off of their rookie deals. Mobley and Thomas are the 2 players that I think need to be upgraded to put the Clippers over the top.

Davis/Knight/Taylor
Crawford/Gordon/Ross
Thornton/Jefferies
Brand/Powell/Fazekes
Kaman/Jordan/Willimas

would be a threat to reign in LA.

You don't think there'd be too many chefs in the kitchen? I mean, Davis needs the ball to be effective. Crawford is the same way. Thornton could either create or just spot up but Brand and Kaman need their touches in the post. There's only one ball to go around and our depth gets worse. Jeffries is pretty much Ross part II.

Oh hell yes! It would be a dream come true to get rid of Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas. The team would be stacked depth wise.

Starting Line-Up:
PG - Baron Davis
SG - Jamal Crawford
SF - Al Thornton
PF - Elton Brand
C - Chris Kaman

Bench:
PG - Brevin Knight
G - Eric Gordon
F - Jarred Jefferies
PF/C - DeAndre Jordan

Reserves:
G/F - Nick Fazeakes
F -Josh Powell
PF/C - Paul Davis

I would say getting a SF/PF like Balkman would be nice or if possible get a steal with Shaun Livingston as bait in a S&T to land David Lee.

Please just get Tim Thomas the *bleep* outta here. I'm cool with CAT being a role player off the bench tho!

I'm with MJ...we're in the minority as far as being cool with Cat, but seriously we need to kick Thomas outta here. I would trade his **** for a WNBA player.

No offense meant to us ladies' game.

^ +1, without a doubt.

Cat would actually be a real nice player if he came off the bench, though. As for TT, I wouldn't care if we sold him to the Flint Tropics.

I'm sorry...but as a knick fan...this trade is stupid for us...ya we save salery, but jamal is worth alot more then just cuttinos bum ass and 1 year lesser contract.

If clippers throw in a pick im down, if not..im sure we can find a better offer...Clippers are in win now mode..and wit their lineup, they are probably a playoff team, so they wont have a lottery pick anyways...unprotected first and i would be down for that

Since the Wiretap article says "if the Clippers are unable to land Baron Davis," and we have indeed landed Baron Davis...this trade is dead. Right?

^ Hopefully, the last thing we need is another score first player. (Crawford is a chucker, and plays no defense...kind of like another former Clipper that we just let go...)

Well, Crawford is way more talented than Maggette but yeah, like I said, too many guys who need the ball in their hands to be effective.

I wasn't comparing them, I was just saying they both have the same strengths and weaknesses.

We do not need Crawford on this team. End of story.
