Celtics offer for Maggette

Post#1 » by FSUNOLE03 » Wed Jul 2, 2008 12:00 pm

If they get this guy they will be that much deeper and combined with experience they are gonna be deadly

What is the Lakers plan to remain competitive with them? There is no telling how Bynums knee will hold up over 82 games. Do the Lakers have a Plan B in a worst case scenario?

Celtics only have the mle to offer, and both players will command the max. Best case scenario for the Celtics is that they will either get Maggette or Posey, not both

I agree.
Maggette brings more offense, but Posey brings hustle, defense, and nastiness which is what made the Cs so good.

The Cs will not be as good without Posey

All speculation at this point, but according to this the Spurs are the front runners. That would be even worse than the Celtics signing him, in my opinion. He's exactly what San Antonio needs.

Yup, just saw that report myself. Thats bad news if it happens, we would have had serious trouble with SA if Ginobli was fully healthy, add another legitimate scoring threat and they are serious buisness again. I'm not afraid of the Spurs if they stand pat for the most part, but I've been very worried that they could get a good piece with the mid level. Its funny because as soon as Baron agreed to sign with the Clips it basically meant MLE for Maggette because there is no more money and they can't sign and trade if they renounce him.

Its a good thing and a bad thing, good cause we have a shot at him, bad because so does every other near contender.

Buss better spend that MLE now. Get Pietrus or Posey or Childress, if for no other reason then to make us deeper and keep them off another team.

yeah everyone is stocking up, and this is a bit of flattery to our squad and success, but basically our foes are building up...

as far as maggette goes, i would like having him, though i dont care if we dont, but what id like to see, is him go to a contender in the east, like say orlando, or detwa, the kelts need some competition in the east and thats where id like to see corey be , if he isnt helping our cause.

Yeah, the East coast has been awfully dull in terms of trades and signings so far this season. Atleast I'm glad they made all the bang in the draft.
