Maggette to Spurs? Grrrreat.....

Apparently the Spurs are the frontrunners to sign this guy. I dunno about you guys but it's great watching the team who's OWNED us get better.

Can they offer him more than the MLE?
and they probably don't have any assets that the clippers might want on a sign & trade.

I'll be so thrilled to see Artest in here. He's exactly the piece we need and i'll be happy to get him here even at the price of both Diaw & Barbs.

He can defend, he can rebound, he can shoot the 3.
If we get Artest, I'll be very happy with our chances.

We better make a run at a guy like Artest or we are another first rd exit about to happen with this roster.

I disagree pidi. You should know what your enemies are doing at all times. They have owned us for so long, and might be adding another piece that makes them even better than us. Plus, what are the kings going to want that we have in a trade? You know the suns are not going to use the TE before it expires. Unless they start Diaw and he has a good first part of the season, hes not going anywhere.

I think we need a guy like artest to make this team better.

I don't think we will make a run at Artest because of his personal record, the Suns have been known to get rid of players who get into trouble. I would also enjoy to get Artest here and I think what he does on the court is exactly what we need but his previous off-court stuff will probably keep the front office away from him.

yeah, you hear what the oppoents are doing. but you have to be confident in the gameplan youre set for the season. and i think the major plus for the next season is that we have a real coach in terry porter. we can develope a real good and tough game plan, and i also think that we can play tough defense. we showed it in spurts when we aquired shaq and won the first games. and never showed it again. i blame mike for that.
they ( the spurs ) can only play five guys, and if maggette or not, we just have to show some nuts and play some freakin defense. defense is the key to get over the hump.
we added some nice piece in lopez, let´s hope that we can resign brian skinner, not marks, and we´re lookin good for the next year..
if we could reach a deal like barbosa for artest it would be perfect-

Artest in Phoenix would be nice. The defense, the rebounding, the passing, the extra offense... all would be positive additions. He's a nice 2/3, so he can play alongside Hill or Bell as the matchups dictate, sometimes leaving room for Hill to backup Nash as the primary ball-handler so Stevie can get a rest.

Of course, since he'd have to come in a trade, I don't know who'd remain but Diaw/Barbosa for Artest/Thomas is an interesting thought as the core to a trade idea.

but the history of the suns is to keep players such as diaw or barbosa.
if they don´t piss at steve kerrs leg, they don´t get traded.
a plus for sarver could be that the contract of artest ends in one year.

but in reality, would you do a trade artest for diaw / barbosa if you were the gm
of the kings???

artest is gonna leave them in one year without getting nothing in return.

it can also be a 3-way deal that'll give them picks+expirings...
barbosa is a good player with a great contract, so he has value.
diaw is also good, and although his contract is bad, we'll probably be willing to take a bad contract in return (of a player worse then diaw).

btw, i just read this article - http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baske ... _does.html

marbury on his way outta new york. he could realy come back to the suns and help us out on the pg position... could also get some minutes from raja, that would be a nice guard rotation
nash / marbury / dj
bell / marbury / dj

mh, that leaves out barbosa to be traded to the highest bidder - i know i´m a f+++++ genius-harhar

We better hope someone else comes in and swoops him up at the last second, otherwise we're going to have to rely on another team to beat the Spurs because we sure as hell aren't doing that. :x

What makes you think Marbury is willing to backup Steve Nash?

Marbury isn't coming here. I don't want him anyway, not even for free.

Yeah, a 21 million backup to nash. And playing SG, great idea.

I feel we have a good team, but the west is just getting better and better and I feel we are stagnant, and getting older. I just have a feeling that we are going to fall into that slump like we did after the 93 finials. Mediocre team that will get to the playoffs at times, and others fall into the late lotter.

I just don't have a good feeling about this team next year.

Why would this be bad news?

Maggette sucks.

If they buy out Marbs, then I'd have no problem having him for the min.

How about we forget about Artest Buy-out Dragic's contract and hopefully make a run at Duhon and Posey i think would fit here better than Artest
