Michael Beasley Hurt!

Post#1 » by Cloud765 » Wed Jul 2, 2008 6:19 pm

MIAMI -- Rookie forward Michael Beasley did not finish his first practice with the Miami Heat summer league team Wednesday after being struck in the chest by a teammate's elbow.

The Heat said Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in last week's NBA draft, was being taken for evaluation and had no further details on the extent of the injury.

Beasley and the Heat are scheduled to begin play in the Orlando summer league on Monday.

Hahaha... Seriously... Can we put a Red QB Jersey on him at practice, at least until the Regular Season starts.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said the move was strictly precautionary and should not affect Beasley's availability for Miami's five-games-in-five-days run through the Orlando summer league, which opens Monday.

"He took a shot to the chest," Spoelstra said. "He probably could have finished if it was the regular season or something like that, but we just wanted to be safe."

In his chest?

Worst that could happen is a broken rib or something.

I pray that its nothing serious.

Might be career altering......lol

The fact that it eve gets reported is what's worrying, usually unless it changes something it wouldn't leak the locker room. I think this just indicates how heavily the press is covering The Beast. :P

More important, the article states michael Beasley signed. We cannot trade him for a period of time... can't remmber what that is.

Oh no! Beasley's a miget and injury prone, lets trade him to the knicks for Zach Randolph. Why did we sign him, the guy has been here for 2 days and he is already injuryd.

PS, He will throw down 45 points and 22rebounds vs Rose.

Spoelstra thought the elbow might have come from free-agent Anthony Washington, a 6-foot-10, 250-pound center out of Portland State.

I DON'T KNOW IF THIS REPORT IS FALSE OR TRUE...

But a report for another websites
Beasley suffer a hairline fracture in the sternum
but MB will only be out for 3-5 Days

In Beasley’s first (summer league) practice with the Miami Heat - after he signed a contract, Bell pointed out - he was driving to the basket and received an accidental elbow in the chest. Heat officials were concerned and took Beasley to the hospital. It was discovered Beasley has a hairline fracture of his sternum, and the No. 2 pick will sit out 3-5 days. Beasley did return for an evening session, participating in shooting drills, etc., and he’ll probably still make his Heat (summer league) debut Monday against the Chicago Bulls

Fun facts :
- The Miami Heat surpassed the Knicks in championships
- Only the Lakers, Bulls, Celtics and Spurs have more championships
