Telfair?

Post#1 » by BobbySura » Thu Jul 3, 2008 2:08 am

Let me start out saying this topic is mostly just me being a huge Telfair homer and wondering if anyone else would be willing to take him back. I'm sure that the probability of Telfair coming back to the Celtics is about as probable as a Ray Allen for Lebron trade so feel free to lock this if you want.

Anyone think this kid would fit in fairly well now? He seems to have his head straightened on a little more and he put up a decent season last year though his shooting numbers weren't that great. Would telfair fill our hole at PG? Or would we be better off just with Eddie?

Again, this is all just what ifs. Just wondering what others thought. I would probably marry Telfair if I could, that's how big of a homer I am for this kid.

After the speeding/gun incident the C's brass removed is name tag from the locker room and pretty much were ready to waive him for nothing. That was until we were able to include him in the KG deal. So, I don't expect we bringing him back even for one year veteran minimum.

I actually am with the OP a little bit. I watched a lot of the Wolves games, and he did seem to be better this year than he was the last. At least offensively, his defense is still pretty shoddy. It's not too far fetched to believe he could play on this team, but his shot is still really shakey at times, and he wouldn't give us the same scoring punch as House. He's a better ball-handler and is better at setting people up for shots, but he still needs work on his jumper and defense. I also still question his maturity. Is he really grown up, or is it that Minn/St Paul is a town that is hard to get in trouble in?

I think that the whole gun thing turned Wyc off. I don't know if he would ever take him off.

Additionally, McHale traded away most of his point guards to Memphis, since Wallace must use point guards in some strange sacrificial ceremony. Now the only player who plays point that they have is Foye.(Who is more of a SG anyway) When they thought they had Mayo, they drafted a good backup point Chalmers in the 2nd round. Then thinking..."whoa what a minute, who am I Chris Wallace?!" McHale traded Chalmers. He so wanted to get that nasty Chris Wallace idea out of his head, that he then shipped off Mayo, Jaric, and Walker for three guys who don't play point guard. Now they are left with only one point guard under contract. SO even if they didn't see Telfair in their long term plans, they may keep him to play as a backup.

Orien Greene
He was a good defender. Couldn't do much else though.

I really don't care "how good he's been". If Telfair is ever on this team again it will be too soon.

Wasn't there one poster who used to insist, again and again, that Telfair was better than Rondo? Didn't he purport to be in the biz somehow? I just remember thinking from the get-go, man, what are you watching?

Anyway, no thanks on Telfair.

Let's let this be the Knicks' problem.

ESPN Insider reporting today that Telfair may be the backup plan if the Knicks can't sign Duhon.

NOOOOOOO.
We had enough of Telfairy 2 years ago.
You know, the guy that wouldn't do anything.
He just stood in one spot, got the balled passed to him and passed it right away.

Holy ****....are you **** kidding me? This past week we have idiots wanting back Telfair, Ricky, Blount...when will this **** end, when Kedrick Brown, Jerome Moiso, and Josep Sesar come walking through that door?

The IQ on this board has gone down to single digits this past week...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
