Miller/Hawes
Artest/Thompson/Moore
Salmons/Garcia
Martin/Garcia/Douby
Udrih/Garcia/Singeltary

I know Artest is not a PF, but this would be our most competitive lineup.

What do you think?

I like the fact that Salmons would get more PT in a starting role, but I'm not too sure about Ron being at PF alot. I know he is capable, but IMO I'm not sure if this would exactly work to our advantage most of the time. Plus aren't we getting SAR back? Somehow he would be in the equation too I assume, and I think there's a good chance he can still compete and help us out in some way. I definetley like this lineup as part of a rotation tho and like the flexibility it gives us going agaisnt certain teams.
can we just get a new arena already...

The thing I like about that linuep the most is there is no Kenny on the roster. But what happened to Sheldon. Artest is ok at the 4 at times when we play small ball like against the Warriors but I don't see this as our regular starting lineup. I think Ron will be traded, so Salmons will start at the sf position and I think Moore starts at the begining of the season and either Thompson or Williams will take over depending on which one works the hardest (probably Thompson).

I agree with you 100% lmao . I don't understand why the Maloofs just don't buy the guy out. Seriously, let's shed some dead weight. And I totally forgot about Sheldon...I really hope he starts to develop this year and becomes some sort of factor for our team.

Artest as a long term regular 4 is not a good idea.

Well, that would be a great small ball lineup. BUt we would use that lineup SELECTIVELY. Depends on situation. Facing against uptempo teams (Warriors/Suns) or creating mismatch opportunities (Mavs and etc). I like the line up but that shouldn't be the starting lineup though. It creates unbalance and lose some advantages. (Rebound and etc). We should just stick with the old lineup.

Hate it. Probably the best we could trot out on paper, but are pathetic rebounding will be even worse. Ron is a horrible rebounder and is the best perimeter defender in the league. Ron at PF for the way we play just hurts both he and us. Now if we have an athletic shotblocker next to him or went to a true "smallball" game he may be great at PF. Just not in a traditional lineup like that.

It wouldnt work IMO.
At the moment under the plan we have Miller, Artest, Hawes, Thompson, SAR, Moore, KT at the 4-5 position.
I know Artest would still see time at the 3, but that is way too many.
IMO KT/SAR needs to be shipped with Artest and open up time for Hawes, Thompson.
If it does go pear shaped during the season with a primary line-up of:
Udrih/Salmons
KMart/Garcia
Salmons/Garcia
Thompson/Moore/SAR or KT
Miller/Hawes

Then sub in any one of Moore or KT/SAR.
If both young bigs are struggling, so what, they are young and we are supposed to be building around Martin, Hawes, Thompson, that is the future and we should be playing for it this next season.
IMO if Thompson gets starting minutes for at least 3/4 of the season he will blow peoples minds.
Sure he will struggle at times, but tell me what rookie hasn't.
The Kings should come out with a new slogan for next season, "Be a part of the rebuild"

It's fine if it is only temporary until Artest or Salmons or Miller or all are traded.

If it is a means to an end then it is a great lineup.
