ummmm hate to break it to you but....

St Louis had a team and lost it...
KC had a team and lost it...
Seattle has just lost their team...
Buffalo had a team and lost it too. In fact they might lose the bills.

Charlotte lost their team and received a new one. What's your point?

I think how Seattle fought so hard and that they left the logo, history and colors with them it makes sense. I expect the only team that will move right now would be the Memphis Grizzlies, they're already for sell right now so they're the #1 target to becoming the new Seattle SuperSonics. Plus the Sacramento Kings are not getting an arena anytime soon, I expect them to possibly move back to Kansas City, MS.

EXPANSION IS BAD FOR THE NBA.

Just as the NBA is recovering from a down period and basketball is being played at a high level again, people want to expand?

Look a the Western Conference next year. That's amazing. I'd hate to see it diluted.

Memphis is east of the Mississippi, Minneapolis is West.

technically Minneapolis is east and west of the Mississippi but the twin city region is still more westwards than Memphis is. as sad it is for me as a Minnesota fan, keep Minny in the west and send the Hornets and the Grizzlies to east if a relocation would occur.

new division? no need, just add the new franchise in the weakest current division in the West.

Vancouver lost their team. Charlotte lost one and then for some inexplicable reason were given another franchise.

by the time this happens the hornets will already be established as a western conference power and will probably have western rivalries of its own. meanwhile the timberwolves could move into the east without much splash. ditto for memphis.

20th largest city
25th largest media market
Hornets lead the league in attendance for seven seasons and sold out 385 consecutive games.

Has the inexplicable become more explicable?

My point is I was pointing out to another poster that named off cities that should have a team and said all others (that he didn't name off) have lost teams before. When in fact most of cities he wants a potential NBA cities have already had teams before.

It seems every time Stern mentioned expansion it's either Europe or none at all. I think he's locked into 30 teams for awhile.

Right now it has more to do with the Las Vegas economy. It is foreclosure city right now. Other states have sports betting, and the city is now just the strip.

I like the idea of a "Great Lakes" Division (if they ever realign). Toronto, Cleveland, Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit could form the division.

I'd be so happy to see that happen
