The Magic need a big man to help Dwight with rebounding and defense in the starting line-up (an additional one aside from Battie and unproven Gortat), and probably will need a wing who is a consistent, above-average defender, as well. Dwight doing the majority of rebounding and defense isn't fair and too much to ask.

Nelson
Maggette
Hedo
Lewis
Dwight

Where's the balance, and significant defensive presence aside from Dwight?

I think Orlando still doesn't/won't have enough defense and size, in matching up against other teams later in the playoffs... Lewis at PF is fine for the most part in the regular season, but the playoffs? As seen and expected in the playoffs, he's way too small mass-wise, to be a solid factor on the inside.

I'll honestly be shocked if Orlando doesn't have a helper big man next to Dwight before or some time during the season. Dwight eventually is going to need his helper big man like other star big men have had. His Haslem, K. Thomas, PJ Brown, Perkins, Ervin Johnson/Olowokandi, Dale Davis, H. Grant, Horry (not specifically like him, but in part of the role he played). Tony Battie I think could of been it, but he's not quite young enough.

if the magics sign maggette they screw themselves. how do they plan on effectively building a bench? they only have 10 players under contract as it is and still no PF or consistent back up pg. they wont be able to resign hedo either. the magics should think long and hard before going after maggette because they need help at multiple positions.

Can the suns make him a offer? If so that would be a good destination. Or is their MLE already used in the Hill signing from last season?

The Jazz have talked to him, but we'd probably have to unload Kirilenko (fine by me).

If I am the Jazz OR the Suns I throw money at Maggette to keep him off the Spurs. There is no reason to allow the Spurs to add the perfect piece. NONE. Especially when he would help either team.

So why not do the double damage of hurting the Spurs and helping your team? I am praying either of these teams do this, as I am a big fan of Maggette but despise the Spurs.

if Maggette has any brains, he wouldn't join a pathetic franchise like the Suns..if he's gonna sign for the MLE, he might as well TRY to win..joining Phoenix means you're somehow gonna find a way to lose, and you know it..

I wish Morey would get on the phone and talk to his agent.

I really like his game and I think he would go well with T-Mac.

Doesn't make any sense at all for Corey to take a pay cut when his value has never been higher right now and this is his last chance to get a very rich contract. If Corey were signing for the MLE, it would have happened by now. S&T on the way somewhere for Corey.

Unless the Clippers lose Brand, which I highly doubt, then that ship has already sailed for Corey. I think Corey's best bet, as someone else mentioned, would to be take a 2 year deal at the MLE. With the 2nd year as a player option.

Phoenix has never lost a series, they've always been robbed by the refs / rules / injuries

Maggette on the Spurs makes the most sense though, he gets to play a huge role on a contending team and will most likely move right into the starting lineup at the two guard spot.

He is a nice scorer, but I trust our staff to get him on the right track.

since it appears the Magic are going to take Duhon, this appears to be a race between San Antonio and Boston, with a chance that LA or NO or Utah comes out of nowhere..if any team with more money is willing to take Maggette(Philly, GSpot) then I think they'd be making a big mistake overpaying him..he would fit on SA or Boston or LA or the others because he wouldn't be a big option..if he went to a team like Golden State or Philly, he doesn't really put them over the top in any way..they'll still be 1st round exits..

I wouldn't be surprised to see Miami try and get in......

Why isnt EVERYBODY throwing the MLE at him?..this is rare opportunity to sign a guy this good at that price..with teams with capspace, he would probably get 9-10 million a year.

I don't get why he would go to Phoenix, when he could go to a better overall situation in the Spurs. Which overall, is the best situation for him out there.

While Maggette would finally be that 2nd creative offensive wing they've been missing since the Joe Show left - the Suns are still a significantly unbalanced team with spotty depth. What is there on Phoenix, that is going to be better than playing on the Spurs?
