Yi Jianlian or Andrea Bargnani?

Who would YOU prefer?

Both are 7' new-breed, skilled face-up PFs with range and athleticism. Their stats are pretty similar as well. Bargs is 22, and Yi claims to be 20, but certain Chinese documents say he's 24.

In terms of what they've shown. Yi is more consistent, but if Bargnani starts playing his best at a more consistent level, definitely Bargnani.

Bargnani is has more potential to improve and is a lot less of a headache than Yi + Chinese government.

Yi is better now and will still be better in the future. He has some good potential. Bargnani is super soft and even though he is 7 feet tall, he can't rebound to save his life.

Sorry if it has, I'm not a frequent visitor of this forum.

I guess that's why it hasn't been getting many responses.

I am a Nets fan who is VERY pleased with the RJ trade, and Yi is a big reason for my excitement. We had been rumored to be in the market for Bargnani, but I believe Jianlian is much better, and will continue to be. He is a better defender and rebounder, is more consistent shooting guarded shots, and has more tenacity to finish in traffic. His rookie season was a feeling-out process, and I think he will improve in '08-'09. He'll probably never be as good a 3-point shooter as Andrea, but I'm not concerned with that from my 7' bigman.

Aside from his on-court impact, though, he is a veritable cash cow on the world market. Even if we never land LeBron, we could conceivably be a perennial marketing/endorsements leader in the NBA for the next 10 years.

Yi of course. He is only going to get better. He is tough and he is athletic.

Yi would be the better choice for a team needing a boost, but if Andrea can prove that he's still got something left, I think Andrea will be the better player
