Mario Chalmers is the man. Everything about him says winner. His defense is what will allow him to play early and often. Unlike most rookies, when his shot is off he can still affect the game on the other side of the ball. Realistic stats for Chalmers this year (12 mpg 5ppg 2apg 40%3pt 1steal)

I love when he says "I loved today's practice, it was a defensive practice." How many players do you find saying they love defensive practice.

I hope so but Banks,Cook,Dorell,Wade should get the bulk of the minutes. This list also does not include any free agents. Hopefully im wrong but for the rookie season ill be ok with twelve, 2009 he will be starting.

Yeah, that's a quote i'm sure Riley will love.

Hopefully his 2 strengths, defense and shooting, translate to the pro game because that's exactly what we need at PG next to Wade.

I hope he can be a pg version of Posey with his defense and clutch shots.

He sounds like a true floor general. I am not sure if he can be a "pure" point but his leadership skills are obvious.

He's as pure of a point we could hope for with Wade. He has a good handle, protects the ball, can attack the rim, shoots well, and defends. He'll be our full-time starter by mid-season.

I think the reason he slid into the second round is because he is not considered a creative point. But us having Wade, negates this supposed inherited weakness in Chalmers.

I don't know if he will get a ton of minutes, but I do see him having a couple big games. Maybe even hitting a game winner, wouldn't surprise me.

You can tell Riles loves him. Saying "I can't wait to see what he can do" is about as high of praise as it comes from Riley with regards to Rookies.

Chalmers is going to be one of the best role-players in the league pretty soon... will be a key part to your team. I'm intrigued to see him progress and emerge.

I'd say he will be a small guard version of Posey.

Yeah, I'm sure he loved practice.

Everyone else was running suicides, while he was standing around talking to coach.

After reading the above article it would not be surprising if the Heat did not bring a PG into the fold until much later in free agency. For the Heat to have Chalmers rated the 12th best player in the entire draft shows they have a very high opinion of him and may want to play him 20 mins a game right from the start. In our Front office/scouting staff's eye, we came up with two lottery slections this year.

I was just about to post that SI article....

So, I went and found another:

I really like the last bit when he states he'd like to take the title of best player from Boozer. Confidence.

The last bit about the love Miami gave him and how he looks to return the favor is exciting.

You have to provide the link to the article in your post.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Spoelstra sounded practically smitten with rookie point guard Mario Chalmers, the second-round pick out of Kansas. "He's been great and I told him that from Day 1," Spoelstra said. "I've been pleasantly surprised about how poised he's been from the point position. He's gotten the team organized and run our stuff very solidly."

Chalmers is going to be better then Chris Paul and Rose.
Haha I'm just kidding about that but
I'm really excited to see him play for the Heat this coming season. :D

Word out of Miami is that mopper has been furiously working on his ballhandling and trying to sneak in to Heat workouts.
