Otis isn't the one who said Duhon is 6'3'' or an elite defender, that was Denton, All the have Otis saying is that since they do have a small PG they need a bigger one to help out.

what we need is a floor general, a true floor general. We need a distributor, and a pass first pg. My question to everyone is, is Chris that pg? can he be the floor general/distributor of the team. Can he serve in that capacity, if he can, then I say go after him, offer him the contract and tell him he will share minutes with Jameer, and that the starting job is up for grabs, and his to have if he proves his salt.

We need to shore up our 1 and if picking up Chris does that, if thats the case, then by all means go for it!

I'm a jameer-fan, but I want to see this team win, if Chris is a better player at the position I say start the guy, let Jameer come off the bench and provide the team a spark in case they are not able to bring back Keyon. :( (I already miss the guy)

Duhon is without a doubt the best available option at PG in this FA class. and yes hes just as good if not better than dooling on the defensive end. Its funny how most of you complain YEAR ROUND about our pg and when we are trying to sign the best defensive and all around PG in this FA class you STILL whine about it. Theres no pleasing some of you.

Duhon oversleeps; suspended one game by Bulls

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls were without suspended Chris Duhon and injured Ben Wallace in the game against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday afternoon.

Duhon was suspended for one game by the Bulls for missing practice on Sunday. Wallace missed his second straight game with a sore back.

"I overslept and just got to deal with the consequences," Duhon said. "The team expects you to be there and you are not there, so you have to man up and take full responsibility of it and make sure it doesn't happen again."

I agree. And people will find any reason to complain about someone we pick up too.

Duhon best option for us? Duhon is not the best PG in this free agent class.

Dooling is a better defender than Duhon and he can guard the 1 and 2. Dooling is a better player. Duhon has more PG skills. He not a great PG though. The Bulls run there entire offense through the guard position. Dwight and Hedo run this offense. Hedo is this teams best play maker and ball handler and Duhon will not change that. Duhon is more capable of challenging Jameer for a starting spot because he does have more PG skills than Dooling. Either way this is more a lateral move. You give Jameer a little more competition but you don't truly challenge him for playing time.

Some of you guys wont be pleased with anything... All year you gripe about jameer not playing defense and be too small... We ARE NOT going to get Maggette.... not cause Otis didn't try, but because the spurs are just that much more appealing or because he gets more money in philly or GS. And even if there is a chance to get him we are gonna have to wait a while to hear his decision... which i would give us maybe a 40% chance that in the end he would chose us over any of the other teams... And while we wait we loose all other FA to other teams, so what happens when maggette doesn't chose us? We've got nothing...
Duhon is a good defensive PG and he has a pretty good wingspan, and he is some 2 or 3 inches taller than Nelson... If we can ink Duhon and maybe a cheap big like for the LLE that will be a decent offseason. Our starting lineup is NOT bad we need to develop the bench.

I hope they wouldn't sign Duhon to replace Dooling, though. He is not a better defender than Keyon, and he can't guard a shooting guard. There goes your versatility in case of injuries. And though he might be able to run the offense a little more smoothly, he isn't going to score as much as Dooling either. Duhon's shooting percentages stink. If they signed Duhon instead of Keyon, I think that would be taking a step back. I realize keeping Dooling then might seem like a luxury, but if Evans is gone, I would think that Bogans also might see some time at small forward like Evans used to play.

It will be curious to see.

If it's Duhon to replace Arroyo............ great.

If it's Duhon to replace Dooling and Arroyo.........like you said, our back court just got worse imo.

That's a good distinction, Craig. I agree.

As to the "some people will always complain" stuff, while that may be true, it doesn't mean any criticism of the potential Duhon signing is invalid. Taken in isolation, I think it's a good move, but if it comes at the cost of upgrading our starting SG, then I don't like it. It's not that I don't like the idea of improving our backup PG, just that I think it's far more important to improve our starting SG.

A lot of the stuff you guys are saying about Duhon can be said about Pietrus -- bigger, longer, better defender, fits our system well, addresses a major need -- except that the Pietrus benefit would come across 30-35 mpg, whereas the Duhon benefit would come across 12-15 mpg.

If you see a flaw in my logic, I'm happy to have that conversation, but don't just dismiss it as Otis Bashing.

Duhon is better than Dooling. And He is the best PG available. Or at least was the best PG available.

If you think Duhon is (was) not the best PG available than who is??

Dooling's defense is too overrated round here. He doesn't know how to run an offense. And spends most of the shot clock trying to get space for himself. Hedo does not run the ball as much as you think. And if we put him at the 2, all his defensive abilities fade. Didn't he get scored on 3 times in a row by Rip in Game 4?

I am not Duhon's biggest fan, but he would've been an upgrade here.
