OT: late-night food delivery recs?

Post#1 » by Bullflip » Fri Jul 4, 2008 5:43 am

Hey guys,

I need help. I just moved into the downtown area of Chicago about 2 months ago and I'm not familiar with the good late night deliveries around here yet. My friends are here with me for the weekend and we just got back from the Taste. I have absolutely no food in the fridge and we just tried calling America's Dogs for some hot dogs but they don't deliver. I live right off Michigan Avenue and Illinois Street. Isn't there some good late night munchies that deliver around here at like 1 am or 2 am. I gotta feed people! Any help would be great

Try grubhub.com with your Zip code in it. With some luck you should find something.

Wish I could help you. But I live in New York. Any place that closes before 1 isn't really trying to stay in business.

Next time you need instant food, what about the cheesecake factory at the John Hancock Center? It's nine blocks down from you, and they're open to 12:30AM on fridays/saturdays. You can call and pre-order.. (312-337-1180)

I lived just one block away from JHC. So I passed that shop every day. Didn't have time to go in, and I regret I didn't find the time. I went down and looked at those cheesecakes and started drooling immediately. Next time I'm in Chi-town, I'm going in.

First, yea I live there but I only have a 1 bedroom condominium.....so it isn't that expensive and I got it at pre-construction prices (which is the best way if you're going to invest in a home). Anyways, I work for an advertising/marketing agency here in the Chicago area. It's a great job in that if you're big in creativity you would do well in it. It was my first job after MBA school, so I was fortunate I was able to get such a great job last fall and not right now. I know MBA grads right now are having a hard time finding a job, especially in the financial service industry, because of the economy.

Damn, nice location for a crib. Should have also considered living right off Kildare Ave and Iowa St. Your zipcode is 60611, so, ya to the other dude, go to grubhub.com and use that ****,

Chicago's Pizza delivers till 5AM and they have excellent stuffed pizza. It is comparable to Giordano's. Give them a try you will be happy that you did.

Morten, I gotta tell you, man. Cheesecake Factory has really good cheesecake, and decent BenniAppleTGIChili's type chain food. The Hancock restaurant gets some bonus points for location, but the restaurant itself can be found in a large percentage of major malls across America.

And here I am. No Cheesecake Factory, no TGI Fridays, no Applebees and no Denny's.

What I wouldn't do to have those kind of restaurants around in Danish malls.

But next time I'm in Chi-town, I'm definitely going to one of the Cheesecake Factories. I usually stay close to JHC, so that's why that was the only one I notcied.

Oh, and I'm so going to visit the Weber Grill Restaurant & Giordano's again. Chicago has good eating, man.

According to the Summer League announcers we do, I've never seen one.

Actually, I think Sham confirmed we had one somewhere.

See? Another reason why you're bastards.

Oh well, at least Denmark has 'frikadeller med sovs og kartofler'. Then I'm good.
