Just heard that he worked out for the Celtics yesterday and was "impressive." Doesn't sound like a career ending injury to me.

An NBA source said the Celtics surprisingly worked out Blazers free agent small forward Darius Miles yesterday and he had an impressive workout. Miles missed last season while recovering from knee surgery.

Not going to happen. Miles is a cancer, has no work-ethic, hasn't played a game in 2 and a half years and his career was deemed over by a doctor. The only reason boston would sign him is to F' with the Blazers. If that's the case, then I truly wish them the worst.

The thing that had me wondering a few posts back was the "independent" doctors they had viewing his knee. Shoot, if the president to lie about the war we're in now, I'm sure a company with money laying around can pay a little cash to a doctor or two to say whatever they "need" them to say. His injury is the worst injury they've ever seen. I'd like to know the credentials of those doctors. If Miles comes back, AND plays with KG, that'll be a slap in the face for a bunch of those kats who was rooting against him.......

Not only is this completely and totally baseless, but the doctor(s) who ruled Miles' injury was career-ending were jointly appointed by the league and the player's association. So the Blazers, the NBA, and the NBPA are all in on this? Evidence?

Right... and the Illuminati were behind 9/11

Miles made his bed long ago.

He's like a cop that doesn't want to give up his badge. He's not fit to perform the duties that are required of him in part because of choices he made, but he still wants the prestige of being an NBA player. He blew it and now he and his agent are lashing out at the same people who gave him 50m.

How are they lashing out against the Blazers? The last story that was shown on the front of this site say that he had an impressive workout. That was just recently. Honestly, I'm curious to find out about how credible those doctors are. Within the healthcare industry, money guides most results. If you doubt that, then do your research. That's why there's a thing such as "second opinion." Call me crazy or looney, but I NEVER believe the words of one side without trying to hear what the other side has to say.

It does seem a bit curious though that a player supposedly as lazy as Miles would want to come back and play if he was in so much pain. It just doesn't make sense to me. He certainly would never be the same player, from what the doctors have said. But, is there any chance he could prove them wrong?

Also, if no NBA team signs him to a guaranteed contract like Spykes has been saying, do you think he would go overseas?

The Blazers hired a doctor to examine Miles. He found that the injury was career-ending. They began the medical retirement process. As part of that, Miles was examined by another doctor, this time selected not by the Blazers but jointly by the league and the player's association. This doctor again ruled that Miles' injury was career-ending. Only then did the medical retirement process go forward. So there was a second, objective opinion.
