Condolences to Sonic fans. This move is utterly despicable. I'm glad the city gets to keep the franchise name and history - so at least there's still a chance that the Sonic franchise will be resurrected someday.

That must suck .

Feel bad for all you Sonics fans. Atleast you keep your colours and team name. Hopefully OKC gets boycotted and you get your team back.

R.I.P Seattle Supersonics...For now.

The only people who lose on the deal is the fans, and while I feel bad for them, I think they are blaming the wrong people. If my company is losing money and the only change I can make is to move it to another area that I will make a profit, then the company moves, period. The Seattle and Washington politicians and residents had a chance to help the Sonics to build a new arena that would allow them to keep the Sonics and have the team become profitable, and instead choose to spend the money elsewhere, so it is on them. There is no way that Oklahoma City is at fault on this, they are only providing a private company the opportunity to make a profit in a free country.

^^^
But don't companies need to be well run in the first place to make money? Maybe i just wasn't paying attention, but I didn't hear any complaints about lack of profits when Allen/Lewis teams were going to the playoffs, and especially in the 90's when they were a championship contender. Any team thats in the lottery isnt going to have huge attendance or make huge profits and how can moving to a smaller market change that?

When basketball returns to the City of Seattle (which it inevitably will), it will be the feel-good story of the year, much like when the Browns returned to Cleveland. This was a dastardly deed by Bennett/Stern, and that karma will be repaid when Durant bolts that outhouse of a city ASAP. It would only be fitting if he bolted the OKC Snakes for the new Seattle Supersonics.

We all feel for ya, Seattle, and I for one will boycott all OKC games they play in my city (Atlanta).

This will always be a huge black eye on David Stern's legacy.

I know ild be pissed to lose my team, so i feel for Seattle's fans. Hopefully the NBA and city of Seattle can work together to get a team back in the green and yellow.

Okay, I no longer care about the NBA anymore.
This is pathetic, the only NBA team I have a connection to, the only sports team that I have consistently followed since child hood moved.

Now I have even less a reason to visit the USA, my NBA team has moved out of town.

Boycotting everything NBA.

This is probably the last post I'll make in the General NBA Discussion board now.

If Toronto ever lost the Raptors, I'd be devastated. Considering you Sonics fans have 4 times the history we do, I can only imagine how upset you must be. However, as a firm believer in karma, basketball will return to Seattle, and hopefully Vancouver. That's why I think anywhere the OKC Bandits/Robbers go, they will be inevitably booed, and rightfully so. It's a sad time for the NBA. And if the NBA does expand, I hope they put a team back in Seattle and another team in Canada!

I just can't wait for the new OKC Bandits fans to join RealGm and get ripped new ones.
