Who should take a chance on Marbury?

Post#1 » by legacyinthemakin89c » Sat Jul 5, 2008 2:52 pm

If he gets released from New York, who do you think should take a chance on him?

I think the Warriors would be a great fit. If he can get his act together under Nelson, he will thrive in that system.

Other possible fits are Denver and Phoenix.

no, he'll infest the team. i'd rather lose with a lesser PG who is coachable.

let him play for the OKC team in 2009/10 to make it easier for Seattle fans when they see how he destroys that team

The Cavs could and should take a shot at him. He still has a lot of talent, something the Cavs are lacking in. As long as he knows his role, he could be a great pick-up for them.

Houston is a possibility. Francis failed, maybe they'd have better luck with Stephon? As long as he signed for cheap, he'd be a low-risk.

Maybe the Heat, they're lacking at the point. If Marbury would accept being a #4 option and become more of a distributor, he could be a good fit.

Orlando? Nelson is ok, but nothing special, and I can't even recall who his back-up is.

If the Suns move Barbosa, I could see him fitting in well back to Phoenix. He had the best season of his career there, has a good history with Amare.

I think Cleveland is the best option. Go there, help out LeBron, and convince him to stay in 2010. A nice way to stick it to his hometown Brooklynites.

I think Cleveland would be good for him. The Sonics could look at him and play him alongside Westbrook at SG, Durant at SF and Green at PF. Golden State could use him also and he could start in Miami. Those are the best fits for him.

Nobody should sign him . His too much of a distraction and he's sure as hell hasn't shown yet that he's ready for a lesser role.

A team looking for a decent back up point guard. I'd be shocked if someone actually let his ass start.

Clippers could use him as insurance for Baron. I'm sure Steph wouldn't mind playing in LA without the pressure he would have on him if he were starting for the Lakers.

I can't see any NBA team offering him more than the vet's min, while I could see him getting a much larger contract to go to Italy.

I think Marbury is done in the NBA.

Miami is the best option... they need a pg, and we will see what he can do if he is not the first scoring option...

I think he's missunderstood. I'm rooting for him.
