Should We Give Shaun Livingston a Look?
I know his leg snapped sideways like a pencil, but with his height and passing ability, i think we should atleast give him a look as a back up pg.

I wouldn't mind giving him a chance. He just had really really bad luck(imo) I would give him a look if we trade Hinrich but it would have to be for a small contract.

The most I would do is invite him into training camp, and let him try to make the team through a couple of pre-season games. Outside of that, theres no way I would sign him to a contract at this point.

You would probably do both him and yourself a service by giving him Jay Williams phone number to use for a little career counseling instead.

If we solve this roster glut and he's still available I would give him a shot. He's a big PG like many have said and you can have him and Rose play together at times. I just don't see us solving this roster problem fully though. One of Nocioni,Hughes or Hinrich will be left on and there will be no room left

He wasn't that good, and had a devastating knee injury. I don't see him being any good ever again.

Re: Do You Think We Should Give Shaun Livingston a Look?
This is like the third toime this question has been posted on this board. My answer remains the same -- NO.
He wasn't very good before he got hurt. He shredded his knee and is supposedly still several months away from even being cleared to do anything involving contact.
The most likely scenario is thjat the Clippers will re-sign him to a vet minimum contract (they have already stated their intentions of doing so). But it is not even close to a given that he will ever play again.

And this was before the freak injury. Pass.
Livingston has been riddled by injuries during his three-year professional career, and has missed 101 of 246 regular season games.

I agree. We don't need to give Mr. Livingston, I presume, a look at this stage of his career.

If I was a team like the Heat or Knicks on the otherhand, I would definetely give him a look.

Re: Should We Give Shaun Livingston a Look?
Shaun Livingston is one of the most overrated and overhyped guards ever to hit the league from high school. He was compared to Magic Johnson despite the fact Magic was always a tad overweight and Shaun would challenge Paris Hilton in a weight-off.
He never had the court-vision, talent, skills or dedication to become a good NBA player. His body also wasn't ready as we saw a year and a half ago. Training camp invite? Meh, wouldn't mind it. But even if he should return to his normal game, he's a 3rd rotaton guard. Just awful, awful skillset.
I mean, look at his weaknesses:
- Shooting
- Court-vision
- Weight
- Defense
Those are absolutely huge aspects of being an NBA point guard. Huge!
I'm not interested.

Huh?
He has outstanding court-vision. And his defense was fine pre-injury as well.
His weight sure, that's a problem. His shooting improved tremendously his 3rd year in the league, and his mechanics are solid so there is no reason to think it won't continue to improve and be respectable.
Granted, what he brings to the table still probably doesn't outweigh the considerable risk, especially since there is a high likelihood he lost a lot of his athleticism with this injury, but he certainly had NBA PG skills and actually played extremely well when healthy.

I respectfully disagree. He was awful at finding cutters, and made questionable entry passes. On the break he looked confused and too often tried to finish the play himself depsite having a guy like Maggette trailing him within 3 or so feet.
His defense was basically spread his arms out and hope the defender didn't notice his poor foot-work. He didn't back-peddle very well, and often couldn't do anything about slashers.
His shooting may have improved. But at it's peak, it was still awful. He could made himself a serious career had he just shot the ball well.
Let me just state for the record, I actually was a fan of his for a while. I thought he had huge potential due to his height and good work ethic. But every year he disappointed me. I hope for his sake he becomes 100% and will return to the floor. It's never fun giving up on a dresm due to injuries. Just ask Jay Williams.

Re: Should We Give Shaun Livingston a Look?
I think both he and the Bulls are a year away from giving this a shot.
He's likely going to sign a 1 year deal somewhere this year. Let him do it, and see how his knee holds up for a season. Plus, then the Bulls can see how Rose is as a PG.
If Rose excels, maybe we take a flier on him as a low risk 3rd PG who could have a high reward. If Rose isn't so great, then we probably look for a more solid 3rd option at PG.
I would presume he would be interested in playing for the Bulls since he grew up in Illinois during the Jordan era (I'm fairly sure). But that is just a presumption.
