Need another Warrior fan?
I've been a diehard Sonic fan pretty much my entire life, but in lieu of the move to Oklahoma I don't really have a team to follow anymore. However, ironically enough, I probably see more Warrior games on TV where I'm from (Vancouver) than the Sonics anyway since they seem to telecast them quite frequently. The Warriors have always been one of my top 3 teams in the NBA, I like their style of play and find them exciting to watch so I figure why not jump aboard the Golden State bandwagon?

Re: Need another Warrior fan?
You are absolutely welcome aboard, pr0wler. Very sorry at your luck in Seattle.
We have one of the most exciting young teams in the league and we've finally maneuvered ourselves into the financial flexibility to build a legitimate, longterm contender around solid, healthy, hard-working pieces on the rise.
Hope you stick around.

Unfortunately the geniouses responsible for our fantastic balance sheet have little or no experience actually winning basketball games for a living . . . and they refuse to hire anyone who's ever been a successful professional in this league to guide them.

pr0wler, you're welcome here and I hope you'll contribute to the forum.
I assume our moderators feel the same but they'll have trouble admitting it when faced with the chance to hate on their team some more.

Re: Need another Warrior fan?
We always have open spots for fans, how else do you think we were able to have all those bandwagon playoff fans on board?!
But, if you become a Warriors fan, you better make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. For example, this team can be very frustrating at times, and with the loss of Baron Davis who knows how crazy this upcoming season will be. You have to be able to take in a lot of criticism for being a Warriors fan also, people always take cheap shots at this team, and it takes a true Warriors fan to argue back with relevant stats.
The positive things about the team is that they're fun to watch. That's basically it for now, and we have Monta and Biedrins.
Just look at this team as, "The lovable underdog team that's just trying to become relevant in the NBA and win". It helps to look at them like that, and it makes winning games feel so sweet. That's how I became a fan of them, because my father taught me to root for the underdog team in Cali.
Also, what channel are they broadcasting Warriors games in Vancouver? Because with the loss of Baron, I don't think the Warriors will get much rotation on tv this upcoming season, except only on the local networks here in the Bay Area.

You'll like Mickael Pietrus, his style of play is so entertaining... If only he signs a deal that is.

Yes we do. It's becoming way too fashionable to be a Warrior fan. I liked the days when people asked what team I rooted for and people would say really? Why them?
Too many fairweather fans at the arena.

Amen. I miss the Bill Curley/Sam Jacobson/Vonteego Cummings days. Putting hope in a hopeless team gave me pride.

Re: Need another Warrior fan?
They're on Sportsnet Pacific, they're on probably at least once a week so I always make it a point to watch them when I can.
My problem with the Warriors is I don't really see a sense of direction. The loss of Baron Davis might help the rebuilding process, but up until that I really just saw a huge mix of young guys like Ellis, Pietrus, Biedrins, and Wright thrown along with veterans like Harrington, Jackson, and Davis. I hope Golden State picks one way to go, either win now or rebuild, instead of being in the in-between zone that so many teams erroneously fall into.
That's why I was really looking forward to the Sonics in the near future. Yea they sucked last year, but they were doing a hardcore rebuild and were on pace to be a contender in a couple years. I hope the Warriors can do the same.

You are of course welcome, and you have chosen wisely. But if you're going to stick around, that avatar may need to go. I can't believe we got 10 posts in without someone commenting on Fortson's ugly mug gracing our board heh

warrior games are telecast a lot in the pacific northwest? weird. i figured if it wasn't the sonics it'd be the blazers. or the griz... nevermind.
welcome aboard. i hope you know what you're getting yourself into. seriously. think carefully as you still have time to get out; the rest of us are beyond hope.
let me add another voice to the "it sucks" chorus regarding the sonics moving. hate to see any deep rooted sports franchise moved.

Man, I was watching the top 50 put-back dunks. And Chris Porter was in the top 10...oh what could have been.

Well, in the current chaos it's not EXACTLY jumping on a bandwagon...more like a runaway stagecoach.
Maybe we get there early....or just go flying off the cliff. Welcome anyhow. The Warriors can be fun.
When the Sonics move, they will need a name that fits. Dustbusters would be cool. Subsonics would not be cool. Tornado related names might scare the kids.
CENSORED... No comment.
