Ok, so we all know that the Nets want to get rid of Marcus Williams and KVH's contract. I think this team helps them do that, get back value, and not loose much.
Nets Trade:
Marcus WIlliams
Keith VanHorn
Josh Boone
Nets Get:
Leandro Barbosa
Alando Tucker
new lineup:
Harris/Barbosa/Armstrong
Carter/Barbosa
Simmons/Tucker/Nachbar
Yi/Anderson/SWilliams
Lopez/SWilliams/Swift
Anyone like it?

Re: Nets-Suns Trade Idea
I wouldn't do that . 2 rookie salary scale contracts AND somebody you can cut for almost nothing in October is nothing you would want to get rid of .
Of course that could be part of a bigger trade but not in a trade like that.
Btw Sean's not going anywhere .
And btw the Sun want to contend so Barbosa for that doesn't really make sense for them.

Re: Nets-Suns Trade Idea
Btw, your all wrong. KVH cant be cut that easily. NJ FO has made it clear they want to get rid of KVH's contract and MWilliams. like i said, its either Sean or Josh Boone, its still the same imo. Suns would do this because they get a good backup for nash, stoudemire jsut for taking on a contract they wouldve had with barbosa anyways. Tucker could also backup Simmons well. I think you are mistaken and this is a really possible deal imo. Never say never....

No thats completely wrong. Rod would have never accepted other then an expiring contract for KvH signed. Why the hell would he accept more then 1 guaranteed year on that contract ? Answer : He wouldn't .
His contract was guaranteed for last year with 2 team options and a ~200k buyout . Of course thats a nice trading chip that you would want to trade because it's pretty attractive to teams in need for immidiat Capspace but it's not like if you can't find anyone KvH's contract would be on our payroll next season.
Marcus of course most likely needs a trade because he's not going to get a big chance here but it's not like we have to trade him if theres nothing out there.

I'm never giving up Sean Williams for a guy who would come off the bench for us. I'd rather sit on him and see if he develops.

Re: Nets-Suns Trade Idea
Like i said, Josh boone could be subbed in for Sean Wiliams if hes valued that much by the nets because their salaries are extremly close. Also, it would be better to TRADE KVH if you ARE getting something in return, which i comepletely believe you are. Barbosa is not half as bad as you guys think. His contract isnt large and he is payed what he is worth. Dont understand why hes so undervalued even if he dissappeared in the PO's last year..

Re: Nets-Suns Trade Idea
Sure the Nets will look to make a move with KvH's contract to not waste it but i really doubt Barbosa is what the Nets are looking for his defense really stinks .
Appearently we're looking to sing Dooling as backup and look for a decent SF to aquire .

I'll edit my first comment then:

I'd do this deal with Boone involved.

Re: Nets-Suns Trade Idea
As i had stated before, the nets have made it clear that Sean Williams, Josh Boone, Marcus Williams, Stromile Swift, KVH, and Trenton hassel along with S&T opportunities with Kristic and Boki are all trade options they are using to bait teams to get what they want. You guys are thin at the SF position (Simmions or NAJERA to start SF? :S). Diaw can fill that hole. would the Nets be more interested in Diaw if a deal like
Diaw+Tucker+Future 2nd for Sean Williams (or Boone), Marcus Williams, KVH's contract and Trenton Hassel
OR Suns make the 2nd a 1st and Nets add Mo Ager and a Second.
Leaves Nets with:
Harris/Armstrong?
Carter/CDR/Hayes
Diaw/Simmons/Hayes
Yi/Anderson/Najera
Lopez/Williams OR Boone/Najera
I dont know how low you are on Diaw, and I frankly don't care. Because hes proved he can be a good producer if he gets the minutes and consistency, and i think he will benefit with the tandem of Lopez and Yi doing what they do. He can be very effective setting them up from the post, scoring with his midrange game, and he rebounds well for his size and will clean up everything thats left from the other 2. Would probably make a nice young front court with a point-forward, shooting bigman, and back to the basket bigman. All three would complement each other well, especially when there are TWO slashers in Harris and WINCE (raptors fan, no offense). Does ANYBODY think thats doable?
