Kevin Durant playing in summerleague game, wtf!?

Post#1 » by blip45 » Tue Jul 8, 2008 10:27 pm

For those not watching the summerleague game. Kevin Durant's playing in the summerleague game vs. orlando right now.

Can't believe a team getting ready to relocate would risk their franchise player is a summerleage game. What's the point? Love seeing a big-name player playing, but I don't get why the management would allow him to play. What's the point? It's not even being televised. This just seems idiotic to me!

It's probably safer to play basketball than it is to drive.

It gives him good practice leading the team, what's the problem? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dwight Howard played in his first two summer leagues as well.

No problem with him playing, i mean its not like hes an elite player yet, its his second season and is still learning to become this teams leader. Good move imo.

IIRC it was his rookie year only.

He has things he needs to work on. He could work on becoming a better distributor as that will probably be an important part of his game as his scoring progresses. He could work at being a passable defender and rebounder too.

I've heard Hawks fans say the same nonsense about Horford and how he "didn't have anything to prove". Who cares, he has a lot to work on.

Maybe they are trying to teach him to defend something other than a chair. Even a chair with wheels would pose a problem for him at present.

Kevin Durant shot just off league average and comparable to many top Sgs. How is his shooting percentage atrocious.

It's not his shooting percentage that we were talking about, it's the fact that someone would love the game of basketball enough to play summer league. Absolutely disgusting, how dare Durant do such a thing? I have lost all respect I had for him

Uh OP....the guy is in his second year. Relax. Lebron would have played had he not had Team USA obligations.

he IS a basketball player, so you'd expect him to...play basketball. If he doesn't play SL, he'll play pick up games which are more dangerous IMO
