No offer for Livingston, someone to keep an eye on perhaps?

From the Wiretap.

That knee injury may have finished his career but he could be had very cheap and may still recover because of how young he is.

I have always liked his game.

He may be cheap but we can't afford him a roster spot.

I think he is worth taking a chance on however he does not really fit our need for a veteran back-up for Rondo since he really hasn't play much during the past few seasons... I would like Ainge to consider Livingston because I think he could do well here... Is there anyway we can say, sign him and then place him on the Injured list until it is proven that he has overcome his injuries and is able to play...

He had great vision and athleticism which you really cannot coach so it would be interesting to take a chance on him because we have the organization from top to bottom, that can really help athletes such as Livingston get back on track... I am not saying I would sign him to a bunch of money but, if he were willing to come here, improve his game while playing for a ring it may be an idea... I am willing to admit that I may be wrong but he is basically in the same category as Grant Hill (I realize he has not proven as much as Hill) and that turned out pretty well for the Suns as far as risk... As mentioned, the cost and the fact that is not really an experienced PG may work against him but I would really like for us to take a chance on him if for no other reason that it would probably be good for his career to get out Clipperville where just about every player struggles to reach their full potential...

This reminds me of Scot Pollard. We just drafted an injured player. No thanks.

I would at least invite him to our free agent minicamp and see how he does.

I'm all for letting him have a tryout. He has some great talents, maybe he knee can hold up. It's really a small risk for the team.

Hm no. We only want him, when he's healthy and if he really is, he will not be comfortable to play behind Rondo. Also, he is not suited to play together with Rondo I think. Forget him.

I wish him all the best, but his place is somewhere else.

If we still sucked, sure, take a flier on the guy and hope he rewards our gamble, but with a legit shot at another title next year lets get a point guard who we can count on to be on the floor. We've all seen how hard a team like the Pistons can make it to get into out offense in reasonable amount of time when Rondo is on the bench, I want to be sure as possible we have someone who can handle the ball and play a little D to boot backing him up. Spending money on a guy who probably won't be able to play much this year, and could even be finished just seems like a waste to me. We need a vet who can contribute right away.

We could try and get Jay Williams in the camp too.

Scot Pollard was a career back-up, with consistent injury problems, who was never expected to be anything more than a back-up, and was aged past his prime. Shaun Livingston is a kid with a bad but recovering knee that was once expected to possibly be a superstar.

I'd love to have him in theory, a young PG (only 22) with a high ceiling, even if he is injury prone.

In reality though, we'll be competing for a championship hopefully next year. Every roster spot has value. If he's not able to compete at a high level consistently, it's better for us to have someone who can.

Plus he wouldn't come here. He wants to go to a place where he'll have plenty of opportunities to show he's healthy, which won't be the case with the Celtics.

Livingston would've been a great pickup for us if we were in the situation we were prior to getting KG and Ray, if we were still a mediocre team in need of an infusion of young stars he would be the absolute perfect guy to take a chance on.

However in our current situation, trying to win another ring with limited roster spots he doesn't fit with us, we need proven vets who can fill roles.

He would be a great pickup for a team on the rise but not quite there yet, a team with a few roster spots that are free for the taking and can afford a high reward type of player.

If he ever lives up to his potential he can be amazing, living in Illinois I got to see him play in HS a few times and he was incredible.

Well I never liked the guy. I thought he lacked quickness for an NBA PG - and his build was too slight. Even now I don't think it's worth it for the C's to take a flyer on this guy. You can't carry Pruitt and this guy..

If Livingston leaves the Clippers he'll probably go somewhere with a lot of minutes available, he won't come to Boston to back up Rondo.

I heard Chris Wallace is looking for a PG. Memphis is pretty thin there. Livingston would be a good fit there.

I really like the idea of getting this guy if he is healthy. Livingston has actually always come off the bench and he really raises the level of play of his teamates offensively. His shooting was coming around and the really cool thing about him is that he allows you to go with one of those SGs in a PGs body as well. No need for him if he isn't healthy but this isn't some kid who you are waiting to develop when healthy this guy can play.

I've always really liked this guy's game. If Danny Ainge feels he is recovered and ready to contribute for most of the season, then we got to sign him. We hold down the back up point guard minutes with House until Livingston is ready for action.

And like Sully said right above me, someone like House would absolutely kill opposing teams when playing alongside Livingston because Shaun can bring the ball up the court and guard the other team's shooting guard.

I think theyre gonna do a sign and trade with LAC which includes Livingston/2009 2nd round pick for Gay and Mayo

Nah they don't want to give up Mayo; that would hurt their PG depth.

Livingston doesn't seem like a fit here. We need shooters/defenders on our bench right now, and if we grab a PG, I think they need some playoff experience (though that wasn't the best result with Cassell).
