Celts.

That's hard to say for me, because the one thing the celtics didn't face in the postseason was a dominant big man, which 2005 tim duncan surely is. I really think a dominant big man loosens up that super defense of the celts. They are able to do a great job on some of the best perimeter players in the league, but the best low post scoring threat they had to face was probably rasheed wallace. Very good, but floats to the 3 too much, and isn't tim duncan.

I say the celts put perkins on duncan and make him work. He'll score, of course, but at least you have kg playing help on other guys. The celts are great at trapping the pick and roll, which is what the spurs love to do with parker/manu and duncan. Effectively defending that would be really good for the celts.

Manu played great in those 2005 finals against a really good piston defense. That was a really close series. But I think the celts would be able to pull this one off. Rondo could do a decent job on parker as long as he's got kg backing him up. Posey or pierce could defend manu. Bruce bowen can only defend pierce OR allen, not both. Overall, I think kg, pierce, allen, and the 3 point shooting would allow the celtics to score just fine against the spurs great d. And the celts would be able to not let manu and parker go off on them, even with duncan's presence inside.

It has long been my contention that KG and Duncan were supposed to be this generation's version of the Magic vs. Bird debate, but the Timberwolves front office messed that one up. Hopefully we get to see an iteration of this matchup this season, if the Spurs re-tool and the Celtics maintain.

probly the celtics. I think the three peat lakers could take the celtics though. Shaq would have made that defense look like nothing. Garnett would be horrible at guarding prime shaq and it would be easy for kobe to use shaq as a stepping stone to scoring easily.
