Wonder why Ainge never even kicked the tires on this guy. Athletic, long, can play multiple positions on the wing, rebounds okay, shoots the 3 well. He's pretty young too. Maybe he doesn't like the way Pietrus seems to play nonchalantly. Most of the Cs guys Danny has brought in LOVE to play basketball.

I thought he would have fit in well. Who knows what they gave him for a deal though.

It also looks like James Jones is signing with Miami. Also if Brand goes to the Sixers like it's looking right now, the Clippers might as well keep Maggette. So the market for backup wings if we lose Posey is drying up fast...

Good move for Orl, they actually get some defense outside of Howard.

this is a great pickup for the magic. they've had a revolving door at the 2 gaurd spot for a while now. Keith Bogans was definitely the weak link in that starting lineup. Also, Turkoglu can't defend elite wings. This gives them an athletic young defender at the wing who has playoff experience.

I have no use for Pietrus he is just not a very bright ball player. He is a guy who looks like he can defend but itsn't very good at it. Anyway this contract is a killer. He apparently got a 5.2 mil for year one on a multi year deal. He put up the same 7/4 as Posey though he put up a 11/5 the year prior and is only 25. But not good.

i agree. that can only reinforce poseys position on his contract demands and i bet dannys not gonna budge. i hope everyone is prepared to see a lot of jr giddens and more scal next year cuz thats probably is what's gonna happen. regardless of what low level fa we sign in the wake.

This only helps the case that I have been making on here, this is a team still on the rise and perhaps our biggest competition for next year. Their weakest spot in their lineup has been upgraded through Pietrus and Courtney Lee.
I despise fans that cheer on a team from up north or one that resembles a dinosaur. oh wait...

Great news -- glad someone else bit on a souped up version of Kedrick Brown.

Hopefully this and Maggette convince the Celtics to shell out some more money to retain Posey.

James Jones and Turiaf coming in closer to 4 will help Ainge's cause especially if LAL matches because you would have to think they are out of the running for Posey at that point.

I wanted James Jones more than Pietrus....although Pietrus is a pretty cool person. I've been to the Garden for the Celtics vs. Warriors 2 out of the last 3 years (missed the 06/07 season game) and for the 05/06 game I sat close and yelled for him.. he laughed, smiled and gave me the peace sign.

It's funny how a bunch of people don't want Tony Allen back because they think he's "boneheaded," yet a few of these people would probably want Pietrus on the team even though he's 100 times worse in that department. Steps out of bounds all the time, travels, commits tons of dumb fouls. It'd be hard to find a player with a worse BBIQ than him. If the Magic want him they can have him.
