bring sheed home!!
i remember seeing wallace at age 16..just a poor kid with a dream. how he is a man who made that dream come true.a philly kid...make him a lifetime offer and he will do what is best for the sixers. yes his outside shooting is the perfect fit for the current poor shooting team. he would be a bridge to thad and the heir to the 4 spot.then after the 2009 season we can spend our cash for a long term piece who we really dont know what position that will be?is it a 2..is lou the answer at 1..i say bring sheed home!!!

Re: bring sheed home!!
Detroit fan here.
Dumars is willing to deal Sheed. But, what are you guys willing to give? If Joe moves Sheed, we have no viable option left at Center. At least not for extended minutes on a nightly basis. So basically Philly would have to Send Dalembert. And considering how valuable a big expiring contract is, like Sheed, Dale would not be enough. Dumars would want Young as well, but he's going nowhere. So Carney would prolly have to be included, because Detroit has a hole at backup SF. And draft picks might have to be involved as well. Maybe something like:
To Philly:
Rasheed Wallace
Rights to Toronto's '09 2nd
'09 2nd
To Detroit:
Sam Dalembert
Rodney Carney
Future 1st (top 10 protected)
I wouldn't think you guys are too excited about that deal, but thats prolly along the lines of what a trade would need to look like. One thing getting Sheed does for you guys is opens up about 25 mil in cap space after Miller and Sheed expire next season.

^^^ I think that's a terrible trade for Philly.
As a Pistons fan, I'd do Sheed + Maxiell + 09 First for Dale and Carney.

^^^ I'll agree that my proposal isn't the most attractive for Philly, but that one is ridiculous for Detroit.

y'all are triping...years ago wallace signed on the cheap because he liked the pistons team.if detroit doesn't want him anymore ..he will do the same for philly and more because this will be his home and his last contract. so take our overpaid pf ...evans and your choice of 4/5 smith or a future no1 and if you insist we will throw in carney

Re: bring sheed home!!
Hopefully the Brand signing will put all of the 'sign Sheed' topic threads to an end...why anyone would want this head case is beyond me. The only desirable attribute he would bring to town is his expiring contract. From all reports, Brand has the right mindset for this town...give Brand Sheed's body, and you have a HOF player...Sheed as is goes down in the DC discussions based on 'what could have been???'

Re: bring sheed home!!
Sheed is 34 in the fall. If the Sixers want him they might as well wait until he's 35 & a UFA. Sounds like a veteran's minimum player by then. Why would Detroit fans think that Sheed would bring back Dalembert who is in his prime?
