I think they should be a Title Contender. They may not be the favorite but they should be one of the best teams in the league.

Yes. But only if Steve Nash isn't the point guard.

Depends how the rest of the team is made up... because you need some other aspects to be relatively present on the team, to be a title contender.

Denver and Houston are two good examples of how it hasn't worked out with two top-level stars... both teams have had their various flaws. Denver moreso than Houston. Utah is another example, they're really not missing much, but still what they are missing, is important to being a credible contender, being better and going further than they have.

No, Denver is a great case, they have two volume scorers, no really good defenders or shooters next to them, JR can shoot, but he's too up and down to count on as your only shooter, Nene and K-Mart are in and out(though K-Mart looks to be on the comeback), and Camby is a sorry defender.

Honestly, both of these guys would get much further with teams constructed like LeBron's, even though its far less talented.

I think they can co-exist though, you just need shooter/defenders. Kirk Hinrich would be a great start.

Edit: and AI needs a certain type of guard next to him, Hinrich is that guy, Billups is also that guy.... Melo could use a forward who can defend well, and has great range, to make space when Melo is working down low.

They should be a contender for sure.

We've finally retooled our team enough since the T-Mac/Yao era began to be a force this season. Unfortunately, T-Mac only has a couple of good years left and Yao's been getting freak injuries.

Denver should've done more too...they perhaps need a more defensive-orientated coach.

Indeed, NO-KG-AI

I can't believe Denver hasn't improved their shooting issues by now. Numeorus oppurutunities have been there since 2004, but have not capitalized.

Denver needs to improve in a handful of areas

The problem is the 3rd option. In 2007 Van Gundy didn't play Bonzi and I think he was really the guy to be the 3rd option and last year Adelman didn't play Francis who I thought would had been the 3rd option.
