``It changes nothing. I pretty much feel about him the same that I felt yesterday, the day before that and the day before that. I still think he can be a good backup (shooting) guard for us,’’ Smith said. ``Nothing has really changed with that. We’ve drafted one and have the potential to sign another, but does the season start tomorrow? OK, then, there’s more work to be done, right? Let the paint dry on the situation first and then see what happens.’’
``I still like the kid and still think he can play for us,’’ Smith said. ``As I’ve said before he’s not the first guy in the history of basketball whose career has gotten off to a slow start. And he’s not the first guy who has played four years of college basketball and struggled to get on the floor. Please write this, `I like J.J. Redick.’^’’
``We’ll see where (Dooling) falls in the next couple of days,’’ Smith said. ``He still has to evaluate what’s out there for him. It’s all about the numbers.’’
