KR Picks Up The Crack Pipe...

Post#1 » by King Roosk » Wed Jul 9, 2008 9:49 pm

I was looking on the GB, and apparently the press conference for Baron Davis joining the Clippers has been cancelled by his representatives...rumors are beginning to surface that, due to Brand's departure, Baron himself may abandon his initial decision to join the Clippers. That being said, no other team has the money to sign Baron Davis...so what happens now? Oh, I know...

Baron Davis signs a one year deal with Houston for the MLE in hopes of getting a big pay day next offseason. Oh yeeeeeah baby.

Thought about this as well but I doubt it happens.

He can't go back to GS, can he? They've already spent their money on Maggette, so they can't afford him.

Am I right about this?

EDIT: Do any of you think he might choose the Lakers now, instead?

yeah...this idea is a bit "crackish"

Reminds me of when I still believed in Santa...ah, how nice it was to dream. Then some overly informed jerk of a 5 year old snatched that all away from me one winter morning in kindergarten during snack conversation somewhere between the nibble of an off brand grahm cracker and a swig of watered down orange juice. Damn you Todd Lewis...damn you to hell! May all your holidays from hence forth be as cold and lifeless as your soul and that trailor I'm certain you try to pass off as a suitable dwelling. Ok that wasn't nice at all...sorry Todd...sort of.

WTF? i thought verbal agreement is still legit in this country
Boozer's case is that he didn't say it in the public about re-signing with the Cavs
but Davis said he's signing with the Clips right?

he can't go back to GSW for sure
because they renounce his right to have enough cap to sign Maggette
so now GSW can't go over the cap to re-sign Davis

if he's going to take a 60% paycut and play for a contender
i think he'll go to the Lakers (some place on the west coast)

i heard the same thing too, but trust me, he is gonna sign with the clippers. its all about the money, and no one will be able to match what sterling is offering. not sure why they cancelled it other than he hasnt actually signed yet. once he does, the press conference will be back on.

MaxRider,
Davis could say that he agreed to sign w/Clips because they assured him Clips were re-signing Brand. Why should he keep his end when they've broken their end?
He may still go there,he's just asking for more money-he supposedly accepted an offer less than the max so Brand could be re-signed. Now he may want more.

Or he's waiting to see who the Clips get to replace Brand.

Josh Smith? Okafor?

look like Baron is staying with the Clips
that doesn't mean he wont demand a trade before the trade deadline
