Scott Anez had a Q and A some time ago and Otis gave it like a two percent chance this season.

While the buyout gets smaller next year, it would have to be lowered or Vazquez would have to pay a huge chunk of it.

All in all, he is not coming this year and it's suspect if he comes over at all.

It would be nice to have some definite closure though for all of us.

Grady1train,

If the Magic had drafted Gasol last year, they would have had to cut into their MLE (About $3 mill) to re-sign him.

He's not set to a salary scale like Vazquez is,

I would have liked Gasol though but that would mean no Pietrus.

Another problem beyond the buyout is that Vazquez would take a large pay cut to come Stateside. Those two events coupled make it VERY unlikely that Fran is a Magician next year.
