A disastrous fourth quarter brought the Pacers a loss yesterday against the Chicago Bulls, 89-94. Leading 59-51 entering the final stanza, Indiana gave up 38 points on 65% shooting while hitting on less than 24% of their attempts. The Bulls were led in scoring in the game by Keith Langford (19), Tyrus Thomas (17), and Demetris Nichols (16), but it was the fourth quarter charge of Aaron Gray (13 of his 14 points) and JamesOn Curry (6 of his 10 pts, 5 asts in the quarter) that made the difference for the Pacers. First overall pick, Derrick Rose, struggled again, shooting only 2 of 9 on his way to 10 points. He did dish 7 assists and make 3 steals against 3 TO's in 29 minutes of play.

The Faux Pacers placed 5 players in double figures, led by Earl Calloway's 20 points, but shot only 38% from the floor and had 19 TO's against only 13 assists. Stephen Graham added 15 points on 33% shooting, while Andre Emmett led the bench for the second straight game with 14 points. Shawne Williams contributed 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Through two games, Hoosier alum Earl Calloway has paced the Pacers with 18 pts, 5 rebs, and 6 asts per contest. Andre Emmett has also shown some ability to score, averaging 14.5 pts per night. The only two players likely to make the 2008-2009 Pacer squad, Stephen Graham and Shawne Williams, have been solid, if unspectacular. Graham is averaging 14.5 pts and 5 rebs, but only shooting 35% from the floor in 29 minutes a night. He has been impressive in getting to the line 17 times and connecting on 16 of them. Williams has played a little less (28 mpg), and averaged only 11.5 pts and 4 rebounds on 42% shooting.

Today's opponent, the Miami Heat, sport a 2-0 record after defeating the New Jersey Nets yesterday, 90-81. Michael Beasley came back to Earth yesterday, managing only 9 points on 2 of 15 shooting and collecting 7 (?) fouls. It did not matter as the Heat got strong games from 2nd round draft pick Mario Chalmers (19 pts, 9 asts, 3 stls), Anthony Morrow (19 pts), and returning Heat player, Kasib Powell (17 pts, 5 rebs).

In the two games, Beasley leads the Heat with 18.5 pts and 8.0 rebs, but has only shot 29% from the floor. Kasib Powell has averaged 16.0 pts onr 58% shooting while collecting 4.5 boards a night. Mario Chalmers dishes 7.5 asts to go with his 15 pts and 3.5 steals per night.

Gooooooooo! Faux Pacers!!!!!!!!!
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

So can Rush and Hibbert play in Summer League now and will they? I'm a fan of Rush.

Hopefully Williams will have a decent showing against Beasley. I am really rooting for Williams to show progress this year.

Impressive game by Shawne. Like to see the turnover go down, but 25 points is a pretty good game.

I'm wondering why Stanley Burrell isn't getting more minutes. I really thought he'd get his fair share, but he hasn't seen much action.
